Job summary

CHEC Construction (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a motivated Rail Inspection Engineer to join our field team in Malaysia. You will perform ultrasonic rail flaw detection inspections and assist in reporting rail defects to maintain safe railway operations.

The role requires basic knowledge of railway track systems, good communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and a willingness to learn. Fresh graduates are welcome, with internship or NDT exposure viewed favorably.

Responsibilities

• Carry out ultrasonic rail flaw detection inspections in accordance with railway maintenance standards and inspection procedures.

• Support preventive inspection programmes and follow up on defect rectification activities.
• Operate and maintain rail flaw detection equipment in accordance with company procedures.
• Prepare inspection records and technical reports accurately and in a timely manner.

• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Railway Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) or a related discipline.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with internship, industrial training or project experience in railway track maintenance, rail flaw detection or non-destructive testing (NDT) will have an added advantage.

Basic knowledge of railway track systems and rail maintenance. Basic understanding of ultrasonic rail flaw detection principles and inspection procedures. Familiarity with railway safety requirements and inspection standards. Knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods will be an advantage.

Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Willing to work outdoors, on shifts and at project sites when required.
