Job summary

INTOTEST SDN. BHD is seeking an R&D Electrical Design Engineer (Senior/Junior) to design, develop, test, and optimize electrical and electronic systems for new and existing products in Malacca City.

The role involves creating schematics and BOMs, selecting components, coordinating with suppliers, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with Mechanical, Software, Manufacturing, QA/QC teams to ensure successful product integration and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Bachelor in Electrical/Electronic Engineering required.
• 1 year of relevant experience in electrical/electronic design, R&D, or product development preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia; Chinese an added advantage for communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, test and improve electrical/electronic systems to meet specifications and safety requirements.
• Prepare and maintain documentation including schematics, BOMs, component lists, and supplier info.
• Coordinate with suppliers on components and technical requirements.
• Troubleshoot root causes and implement corrective actions during development, testing, and production.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Software, Manufacturing, QA/QC and other teams to ensure successful product development and integration.
• Support product testing, validation, commissioning, and continuous improvement activities.

Job description

R&D Electrical Design Engineer (Senior / Junior)

Perform circuit design and development of electrical and electronic systems for new and existing products.

Design, evaluate, test, and improve electrical and electronic systems to meet product specifications, performance, quality, and safety requirements.

Conduct engineering evaluations, tuning, testing, and selection of electrical and electronic components based on technical requirements, performance, availability, and cost.

Participate in new product development activities and ensure assigned tasks are completed according to project requirements and timelines.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including electrical schematics, specifications, Bills of Materials (BOM), component lists, and supplier information.

Coordinate with suppliers on electrical and electronic components, specifications, and technical requirements.

Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for electrical and electronic issues during product development, testing, and production.

Provide technical support to other departments on electrical and electronic matters.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Mechanical, Software, Manufacturing, QA/QC, and other departments, to ensure successful product development and integration.

Support product testing, validation, commissioning, and continuous improvement activities.

Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the HOD/Management from time to time.

Job Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related engineering field.

Strong hands-on experience in circuit design, electrical/electronic system development, component selection, testing, and troubleshooting.

Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic components, circuit design principles, testing methods, and troubleshooting techniques.

Experience in the semiconductor, automation, machinery, or manufacturing industry is added advantage.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with good attention to detail.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

Good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Chinese. Chinese will be an added advantage for communication with customers, suppliers, or internal stakeholders.

Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience in electrical/electronic design, R&D, product development, or a related field. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.
