Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Quantity Surveyor in Shah Alam to manage cost estimation, tender pricing and contractual administration for construction projects. You will analyze drawings, prepare BOQ, and coordinate with design and procurement teams.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma or Bachelor's in QS, 3–4 years' experience, strong numerical and communication skills, and fluency in Mandarin and English. We offer free parking, medical benefits and travel claims.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 3–4 years of experience in quantity surveying, estimation or tender pricing in construction.
• Familiarity with BOQs and cost estimation tools/software (e.g., Excel).
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and contract basics.
• Excellent numerical, communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Mandarin and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQ and cost plans at various project stages.
• Analyze drawings to determine material, labor and equipment requirements.
• Develop tender pricing for materials, labor, plant and subcontract works.
• Prepare quantity take-offs from architectural/structural drawings.
• Source and evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotations.
• Monitor contracts for quality, timelines and cost benchmarks.
• Forecast final costs and ensure budget adherence.
• Prepare regular progress, cost and performance reports for management.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure cost-effective delivery.
• Maintain cost databases and assist with commercial reporting.
• Support value engineering to improve cost-efficiency.
• Identify risk items and commercial assumptions for tenders.
