You will prepare quantities, BQs, detailed cost estimates, and monthly valuations, while assisting with contract administration and final accounts to help maximize profitability and client

Responsibilities

• Measure and extract quantities from architectural, structural, and M&E drawings.
• Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BQ), cost estimates, and tender documents per standard methods (SMM2/MySMM).
• Assist in calling, evaluating, and comparing contractor/subcontractor quotations, and prepare tender recommendation reports.
• Prepare preliminary cost estimates and budget baselines to align with client or management expectations.
• Conduct site measurements and prepare monthly progress claims, interim valuations, and payment certificates for main contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
• Identify, price, negotiate, and settle site variations or omissions.
• Monitor expenditures against budgets and perform Cost-Value Reconciliations (CVR).
• Assist in preparing, negotiating, and finalizing project final accounts with clients, consultants, and trade contractors.
• Assist in drafting, administering, and interpreting construction contracts (e.g., CIDB, JKR, or FIDIC forms used in Malaysia).

Job description

• Quantity Take-Off: Measure and extract quantities from architectural, structural, and M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) drawings.
• Bill of Quantities (BQ): Prepare detailed BQs, cost estimates, and tender documents in compliance with standard methods of measurement (e.g., SMM2 or MySMM)
• Tendering & Procurement: Assist in calling, evaluating, and comparing contractor/subcontractor quotations, and preparing tender recommendation reports
• Cost Planning: Prepare preliminary cost estimates and budget baselines to align with client or management expectations.

Post-Contract Phase

• Valuation & Progress Claims: Conduct site measurements and prepare monthly progress claims, interim valuations, and payment certificates for main contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
• Variation Orders (VO): Identify, price, negotiate, and settle site variations, additional works, or omission claims.
• Cost Control & CVR: Monitor project expenditures against budgets and implement Cost-Value Reconciliations (CVR) to track profitability.
• Final Accounts: Assist in prepare, negotiate, and finalize project final accounts with clients, consultants, and trade contractors.
• Contract Administration: Assist in drafting, administering, and interpreting construction contracts (e.g., CIDB, JKR, or FIDIC forms used commonly in Malaysia).
