Job summary

CHINA WEST CONSTRUCTION GROUP (MALAYSIA) SDN BHD is seeking an experienced QA/QC professional to oversee quality management on building projects in Malaysia. The role requires conducting inspections, verifying materials, preparing reports, and ensuring adherence to quality standards and project specifications.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of full‑time QA/QC experience, be fluent in Mandarin and English, and hold a relevant Civil/Engineering diploma or higher.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of full‑time QA/QC quality‑management experience in building construction.
• Familiar with Malaysian construction materials, methodologies, site workflows and industry practices.
• Proficient in Malaysian MS Standards, British BS Standards and relevant international codes; able to conduct independent QC per specs.
• Able to carry out site patrols, material verification, test witnessing and quality validation across full QC scope.
• Meticulous with defect detection, risk identification and proactive quality risk management.
• Strong communication and coordination to work across departments and teams for QC delivery.
• Competent in engineering documentation, ledger maintenance, test logging and QC reporting.
• Good physical condition for frequent site inspections and full-site coverage checks.
• Possess a valid motor vehicle driving licence.
• College diploma or above in Civil/Engineering or related disciplines preferred.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English; Bahasa Malaysia preferred for workplace communication.
• Strong sense of responsibility and adherence to project quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and review incoming materials to ensure compliance with quality standards and specs.
• Prepare QC documents and reports, identify non-conformities, analyze root causes, and propose corrective actions.
• Supervise and verify all materials delivered to site ensuring quality and certificates are available.
• Perform sampling, laboratory submission and on‑site test control of materials per MS, BS and project specs.
• Coordinate with main contractors and project teams to resolve on‑site quality issues until resolved.
• Record inspection data, test results and acceptance status for compliance submission.
• Communicate with project stakeholders and consultants on quality‑related matters.
• Identify gaps in construction techniques and participate in continuous QC improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian construction standards, regulations and safety requirements.
• Perform other QC tasks assigned by company and supervisors.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Conduct regular inspections and review incoming materials to ensure the whole‑construction process complies with quality standards and specifications.

2. Prepare comprehensive quality‑control documents and quality reports, identify on‑site non‑conformities, analyze root causes, and propose effective corrective and preventive measures.

3. Supervise and verify all construction materials delivered to site to guarantee compliant material quality and satisfactory parameters. Ensure valid certificates and test reports are available prior to material intake and usage.

4. Be responsible for sampling, laboratory submission and on‑site test control of raw materials, concrete and building components in accordance with Malaysian MS Standards, BS Standards and project specifications.

5. Liaise with main contractors, subcontractors and project teams, coordinate resolution of various on‑site quality issues, and follow up corrective actions until full closure.

6. Fully record inspection data, test results and quality acceptance status to ensure all quality documents are authentic, complete, traceable and ready for compliance submission.

7. Communicate with project stakeholders and consultants for external quality‑related matters.

8. Proactively identify gaps in construction techniques and management procedures, and participate in continuous quality improvement and optimization initiatives.

9. Strictly implement Malaysian construction industry standards, construction regulations and on‑site safety requirements to ensure compliant project execution.

10. Perform other quality‑management‑related tasks assigned by the company and supervisors.

Job Requirements

1. Minimum 5years of full‑time QA/QC quality‑management working experience in building construction.

2. Familiar with Malaysian construction materials, construction methodologies, site‑management workflows and common industry practices.

3. Proficient in Malaysian MS Standards, British BS Standards and relevant international building codes; capable of conducting independent quality control per specifications.

4. Able to independently carry out site patrols, material verification, test witnessing and quality validation covering full‑scope quality‑control activities.

5. Meticulous working attitude with sharp defect‑identification skills; capable of proactively detecting construction risks, material hazards and quality risks.

6. Strong communication and coordination skills to collaborate efficiently across departments, work gangs and organisations for quality‑control delivery.

7. Competent in engineering documentation, ledger maintenance, test logging and quality‑report compilation.

8. Good physical condition to support frequent site inspections, high‑low‑level operations and full‑site coverage checks.

9. Possess a valid motor‑vehicle driving licence.

10. College diploma or above in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Engineering Management, Quality Control or related disciplines is preferred.

11. Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and English for workplace communication; Bahasa Malaysia proficiency is preferred.

12. Strong sense of responsibility, good execution and independent problem‑solving capability; firm adherence to project quality standards.
