Job summary

BAC Asia in Negeri Sembilan is seeking a Quality Manager to build and lead the quality function for the Malaysia plant. You will establish the quality organization, QMS, and governance to ensure product quality, process stability, supplier performance, and customer satisfaction.

The role requires strong data-driven decision making, Six Sigma expertise, and the ability to develop a quality culture from startup through ramp-up, while coordinating with manufacturing, sourcing, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or above in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 5 years of quality leadership experience managing engineers, inspectors, technicians, or supplier quality teams.
• Strong experience in setting up or improving quality systems, quality processes, and quality organization.
• Solid experience with ISO 9001 etc. Quality Management System, internal/external audits, and quality certification.
• Strong experience in Six Sigma, structured problem solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Experience in supplier quality, customer quality, manufacturing quality control, and quality KPI management.
• Experience in new plant start-up, organization build-up, or manufacturing transformation is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and develop the Malaysia plant Quality organization, including team structure, roles, responsibilities, and capability development.
• Establish and maintain the Quality Management System aligned with BAC global standards and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Lead incoming quality control, in-process quality control, final inspection, and product release process.
• Ensure product quality meets customer, engineering, regulatory, and BAC internal requirements.
• Manage quality KPIs, quality review meetings, audit actions, calibration system, measuring tools, and quality records.
• Work closely with Manufacturing, ME, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Sourcing teams to improve process and product quality.
• Build quality data collection, analysis, reporting, and dashboard system.
• Use quality data to identify defect trends, process risks, supplier issues, and customer concerns.
• Drive improvement in FPY, defect rate, scrap, rework, customer complaints, and cost of poor quality.
• Lead corrective and preventive actions based on data and root cause analysis.
• Lead structured problem solving using Six Sigma, 8D, DMAIC, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and control plan.
• Drive permanent corrective actions for internal defects, supplier issues, and customer quality complaints.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to improve quality performance, process capability, and customer satisfaction.
• Coach the team and cross-functional members on quality tools and problem-solving methods.
• Establish supplier quality management process for Malaysia plant.
• Lead supplier qualification, incoming quality performance review, supplier audit, and supplier corrective actions.
• Work with sourcing, engineering, and supply chain teams to improve supplier quality and reduce incoming defects.
• Understand customer requirements and translate them into quality standards and improvement actions.
• Lead customer complaint handling, warranty analysis, and field quality improvement.
• Act as the voice of customer inside the plant to improve product quality and customer experience.
• Partner with commercial, customer experience, engineering, and operations teams to improve customer satisfaction.
• Lead ISO 9001 etc. certification, internal audits, external audits, and customer audits.
• Ensure compliance with company quality policies, local requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Manage Quality Department safety performance and support plant EHS culture.
