Job summary

Intel in Penang seeks a Manufacturing Quality and Reliability Engineer to join the Foundry QnR team. You will oversee wafer-level assembly, packaging substrates, and advanced packaging programs (EMIB, Foveros), ensuring quality and reliability from wafer fabrication to final assembly.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration, 8D problem-solving, and driving rigorous excursion management with a focus on process improvement and customer satisfaction. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in a materials/physics/engineering field with semiconductor experience.
• 3+ years in semiconductor manufacturing with WLA/packaging substrates.
• Experience with quality/reliability methodologies and excursion management.
• Proficiency in statistics and data analytics for quality assessments.
• Familiar with QnR Quality Systems and tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to run effective meetings.
• Self-motivated learner with a quality and zero-defect mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assess inline process health and downstream packaging implications using advanced packaging knowledge.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D) with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with fab, substrates, test, and process engineering to improve controls and in-line screening.
• Design and implement incoming/outgoing quality controls and SPC; analyze defect Pareto and excursions.
• Support excursion management, MRB, containment, and risk communication with partners and customers.
• Provide input on thermomechanical interactions to aid risk assessment and decision-making.
• Maintain RFCs and monitoring metrics; support tech certifications and transfers.
• Use data tools and scripting to flag risks in product, process, or customer areas.
• Represent Quality & Reliability as the voice of the customer in internal forums.
