Job summary

A US manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices is seeking a seasoned Quality Leader to own the site quality strategy in Bayan Lepas, Penang. You will drive ISO 9001 compliance, lead audits, and oversee CAPA processes across production and development teams.

Role requires 6+ years in quality with 4+ in leadership, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and proficiency in Minitab and ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 6+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment, with 4+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, SPC, and quality auditing.
• Proficient in statistical/data analysis tools such as Minitab; experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
• Hands-on experience with inspection and measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and microscopes.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, presentation, and customer-facing skills.
• Experience in motor manufacturing / precision manufacturing is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Quality team and site quality strategy to meet ISO 9001, customer, and corporate requirements.
• Manage and maintain the QMS, including internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
• Lead FAI, PPAP, MRB, nonconformance, and CAPA activities.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for production defects and customer complaints.
• Monitor key quality KPIs and lead continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, and statistical tools.
• Support quality activities throughout product development and manufacturing, including equipment/process qualification.
• Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Production, and customers to resolve quality issues.
• Lead Quality team development, training, and performance management.

Key Responsibilities
