Job summary

AFN Sports Equipment Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is hiring a Quality Control Technician to perform inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure conformance with quality standards.

The role reports to the Senior Quality Engineer and coordinates with the QA Executive on inspection reports and documentation. Candidates should have a SPM or Diploma in Quality or related field, 1–3 years of QC experience, and hands-on measurement tool skills.

Job description

To perform inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications, and to carry out routine floor-based Quality Control (QC) activities. The role reports directly to the Senior Quality Engineer for QC operations, and coordinates with the QA Executive on inspection reports and documentation.

Key responsibilities

Inspection & Testing

• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections on raw materials, components, and finished products.
• Perform in-process checks during production to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Carry out functional and performance tests as per quality procedures.
• Perform calibration and maintenance checks on inspection and testing equipment.

Documentation & Reporting

• Record inspection results accurately.
• Prepare non-conformance reports (NCR) and elevate issues to the Senior Quality Engineer.
• Submit inspection reports, test results, and calibration records to the QA Executive for review and approval.
• Maintain proper documentation for traceability and audits of detailed inspection records, test results, and corrective actions.

Compliance & Standard

• Ensure all inspections comply with company quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Follow SOPs, work instructions, and safety protocols during inspection activities.

Support & Coordination

• Assist the Senior Quality Engineer in root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
• Coordinate with production teams to resolve quality-related problems promptly.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in inspection areas.
• Report any unsafe conditions or equipment issues.

Qualifications & Skills

SPM/Diploma in Quality, Manufacturing, or related field.

1-3 years of experience in quality control or inspection, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Hands-on experience with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and inspection techniques.

Familiarity with quality documentation.

Attention to detail, strong communication skills and proactive in problem-solving.
