Job summary

Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad seeks a Quality Control Executive to support the Q.C. section, oversee chemistry and packaging material testing, and ensure accurate analytical results.

The role includes maintaining lab equipment, validating methods, and supporting ISO 17025 compliance and 5S practices. The candidate should be a registered chemist with IKM, hold a chemistry degree, and have hands-on experience in analytical labs, preferably in food manufacturing, with strong English and Malay

Qualifications

• Must be a registered Chemist with Institute Kimia Malaysia (IKM) with valid membership.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Applied Chemistry or equivalent from a recognized university.
• Preferably at least 2 years of working experience in a chemical/analytical laboratory, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
• Hands-on experience in chemical analysis of raw materials, packaging materials, in-process samples and finished products.
• Hands-on experience with analytical instruments such as UV-Vis, FTIR, autotitrator and other laboratory equipment.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, GLP and laboratory quality control requirements.
• Familiar with OOS/OOT investigation, CAPA and laboratory troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Malaysian Food Act 1983, CODEX and other applicable food safety/regulatory requirements.
• Experience in reviewing COA, specifications and analytical results.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update packaging material testing procedures and ensure method validation is documented.
• Support ISO 17025 laboratory accreditation by developing chemistry testing procedures per ISO 17025 and documenting validation.
• Ensure all chemistry and packaging testing follows manuals and results are released within timelines.
• Perform daily verification to ensure accuracy of chemistry and packaging analyses and report abnormalities.
• Manage purchasing, installation and maintenance of chemistry and packaging testing equipment and supplies.
• Provide technical advice to other departments on chemistry and packaging materials.
• Monitor raw material compliance with CODEX and the Malaysian Food Act.
• Ensure departmental targets are met within required timelines.
• Develop and implement employee training plans.
• Manage the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Ensure instruments are maintained; schedule maintenance and assist troubleshooting.
• Conduct laboratory audits and proficiency testing as scheduled.
• Stay updated on laboratory equipment and testing methodologies.
• Implement 5S and maintain a safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
