Job summary

ASE Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a proactive QA Engineer to oversee NPI quality activities and APQP processes. You will collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure quality across the product lifecycle and drive continual improvement.

The role focuses on reviewing and managing control plans, FMEAs, PPAPs, audits, CAPA, and ensuring successful product launches in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a QA/Engineering/NPI role.
• Strong working knowledge of APQP, FMEA, PPAP, and other advanced quality planning tools.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and/or ISO 13485.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, multicultural environment.
• Proficient in MS Office and quality management software/tools.
• CQE/Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all QA aspects of NPI projects from concept through to mass production.
• Lead APQP activities, ensuring all phases are properly executed and documented.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure quality requirements are met throughout the product life cycle.
• Develop, review, and approve quality documentation such as control plans, FMEAs, PPAPs, and process flow diagrams.
• Coordinate and conduct audits to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
• Drive root cause analysis and CAPA for quality issues during NPI and mass production phases.
• Continuously improve quality systems, procedures, and best practices to enhance product quality.
• Prepare and present quality metrics and status reports to management and key stakeholders.
• Train and mentor junior QA team members as required.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting QA operations, with a primary focus on overseeing, reviewing, and managing product transfer and new product development projects. This position relates with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes within a manufacturing environment. The QA Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all quality requirements are met throughout the product lifecycle, driving continuous improvement and ensuring successful product launches.

Primary Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage all QA aspects of NPI (New Product Introduction) projects from concept through to mass production.

Lead APQP activities, ensuring all phases are properly executed and documented.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure quality requirements are met throughout the product life cycle.

Qualification & Experiences:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in a QA/Engineering/NPI role, preferably in related manufacturing industries.

Strong working knowledge of APQP, FMEA, PPAP, and other advanced quality planning tools.

Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and/or ISO 13485.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, multicultural environment.

Proficient in MS Office and quality management software/tools.

Certification such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), or equivalent is a plus.
