Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Tech Malaysia (MBTMY) seeks an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer to design, implement, and scale automated testing solutions for enterprise software across the value chain. You will collaborate with product owners, developers, and security teams to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines and ensure high quality deliveries.

The role requires at least 6 years of software testing and hands-on UI/API automation, with Open-source tools.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software testing and QA automation.
• Degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience with Agile and cross-functional teams.
• Hands-on UI and API test automation.
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Job Description

• Implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automated testing solutions for enterprise software systems based on one or more technologies or products.
• Collaboration with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to understand product requirements and define comprehensive test strategies.
• Conception, design, and development of scalable test automation frameworks, reusable test components, and reliable quality engineering solutions.
• Independent and self‑responsible implementation and quality assurance of product increments, including test automation, CI/CD integration, security and compliance testing, and defect management.
• Development and execution of automated UI, API, integration, regression, and end‑to‑end test suites.
• Root cause analysis, defect tracking, quality risk assessment, and continuous improvement of testing processes.
• Creation and maintenance of test strategies, test cases, quality metrics, and technical documentation as part of a software development project.
• You build it - you test it - you run it.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years' working experience in software testing, quality assurance, test automation, or a related field is required.
• Education minimium Degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

• Experience with Agile methodologies and working in cross‑functional product teams.
• Strong hands‑on experience in UI and API test automation.
• Experience with free and open-source technologies and enterprise tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• IT, software testing, or programming‑related certification is an advantage.

• Creates complex technical documentation, test strategies, quality reports, and automation guidelines.
• Designs and develops reliable, scalable, and maintainable enterprise test automation solutions.
• Advises product teams and customers on testability, quality risks, automation strategy, and quality engineering best practices.
• Leads automation initiatives and supports or mentors medium and large quality engineering teams.
• Presents test strategies, quality insights, risks, and automation solutions at customer and expert level.

• Designs the quality engineering environment for the implementation of highly complex topics, projects, and products.
• Evaluates and applies alternative test solutions, automation tools, and courses of action.
