Job summary

KAMEN STEEL INDUSTRIES SDN BHD is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to oversee inspections and ensure compliance with mill certificates and standards. The role involves recording QC checks and welding records, verifying wire and fabric outputs, and ensuring delivery conformance to instructions.

Candidate will work on-site in Penang, adhering to production planning and quality control processes, and handling customer complaints with corrective action when needed.

Responsibilities

• Verify consignments/wire-rod against the mill certificate and verify conformance.
• Ensure drawn wires comply with weight, length and production schedule specifications.
• Confirm straightened and cut wires meet required parameters.
• Record and update daily QC inspections and welding control records.
• Check welding strength, overhang, diagonally and pitch to standards.
• Ensure packing of cut-to-size sheets per production planning reports and instructions.
• Ensure finished goods meet delivery instructions; investigate customer complaints and take corrective action.

Job description

a) Check and verify that the consignments/wire-rod received are in accordance to the mill certificate given.

b) Ensure all drawn wires comply to weight, length and dimensions as specified in the production planning schedule.

c) Ensure all straightened and cut wires meet the required parameters.

d) Record and update daily QC inspections and welding control record.

e) Check welding strength, over-hang, diagonally and pitch according to standard.

f) Ensure the packing of cut-to-size/standard sheets of steel fabric is in accordance to production planning reports and instructions.

g) Ensure finished goods for delivery are in accordance to delivery instructions given prior to goods leaving the premise. Conduct inquiry on customer complaint, if any, and to take corrective action accordingly.

h) Control of documents as per SIRIM standard MS144: 2001 & MS145: 2001.
