Job summary

ELANTAS Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Quality Control and Laboratory Operations professional in Kapar, Malaysia.

You will conduct inspections and tests of raw materials and finished products, prepare samples, and maintain QC records as part of a continuous improvement program. With a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Chemistry or related field and at least two years in Quality Control or Laboratory Operations, you will support ISO 9001 compliance, SPC analysis, and ERP-based data management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Science, Applied Science, Quality Management or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in Quality Control, Laboratory Operations or Quality Management Systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and document control practices.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing techniques, SPC and quality tools.
• Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems.
• Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspection and testing of raw materials and finished products per specifications and quality standards.
• Perform sample preparation and laboratory testing.
• Maintain QC retained samples per procedures.
• Investigate quality issues, non-conformances and customer complaints; support CAPA implementation.
• Update and monitor SPC records to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Maintain laboratory records and quality data in ERP and related systems.
• Monitor inventory levels of chemicals, reagents and testing equipment.
• Maintain calibration, validation, maintenance and servicing records for lab equipment.
• Ensure ISO 9001 documentation and test reports are properly maintained.
• Lead monthly QC meetings with production to review quality performance and improvements.

Job description

This is a Quality Control and Laboratory Operations role responsible for conducting inspection and testing of raw materials and finished chemical products, maintaining quality records and systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspection and testing of raw materials and finished chemical products in accordance with established specifications, test methods, and quality standards
• Perform sample preparation, laboratory testing, and analytical work as required
• Maintain QC retained samples in accordance with company procedures
• Participate in investigations of quality issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions
• Ensure Statistical Process Control (SPC) records are updated, monitored, and analyzed to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and quality data (ERP system, QC specification, etc.)
• Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels of chemicals, reagents, laboratory consumables, and testing equipment
• Maintain laboratory equipment history records, including calibration, validation, maintenance, and servicing activities
• Ensure laboratory documentation, test reports, records, and controlled documents are maintained in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements
• Conduct monthly QC meetings with production personnel to review quality performance, discuss issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Science, Applied Science, Quality Management, or related discipline
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality Control, Laboratory Operations, or Quality Management Systems
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and document control practices
• Knowledge of laboratory testing techniques, SPC, and quality tools
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment
