Job summary

Performance Portfolio Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a QAQC Supervisor to plan, coordinate and supervise daily QAQC and laboratory operations, including inspection, sampling, testing and documentation. You will lead the team to ensure concrete quality, monitor test results and drive corrective actions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with 3+ years in QAQC, strong leadership, and proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree is required.
Minimum 3 years of experience in QAQC supervisory roles.
Good knowledge of concrete quality control and testing.
Experience with concrete mix design, trial mixes and quality investigation is advantageous.
Strong QAQC documentation, records and calibration understanding.
Able to investigate quality issues and coordinate corrective actions.
Proven leadership, team coordination and people management skills.
Analytical, problem-solving, communication and reporting abilities.
Able to coordinate with Operations, Production, Sales and customers.
Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin-speaking candidates preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality documentation.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate and supervise daily QAQC and laboratory operations, including inspection, sampling, testing and verification activities.
Supervise inspection, sampling, testing and verification of materials to ensure compliance with specs and standards.
Monitor concrete quality and test results and take corrective actions for abnormalities.
Coordinate fresh and hardened concrete testing, including slump tests and strength testing.
Investigate quality issues, non-conforming products and customer complaints, and prepare findings.
Coordinate root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality issues.
Coordinate approved concrete mix designs, revisions, trial mixes and product verification documentation.
Support site quality verification, customer enquiries and technical matters related to concrete quality.
Coordinate with Operations and Production on quality-related matters for consistent production.
Monitor raw material quality and coordinate verification when changes occur.
Supervise QAQC personnel daily activities, planning and manpower coordination.
Maintain laboratory equipment, testing facilities and QAQC assets; ensure availability.
Monitor equipment condition, calibration status and maintenance needs.
Ensure QAQC records, testing records and maintenance records are complete and traceable.
Maintain QAQC documentation and records for management reviews and audits.
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly QAQC reports and performance data.
Suggest and implement continuous improvement actions to enhance quality and processes.
Coordinate QAQC matters with Operations, Production, Sales, R&D and other departments.
Participate in internal, external and supplier audits, regulatory inspections and quality reviews.
Escalate significant quality or operational issues to Management in a timely manner.
Perform other QAQC and operational duties as assigned by Management.

Coach and guide QAQC personnel to improve technical competency, quality awareness, teamwork and professional working standards.

Coordinate manpower and overtime requirements based on operational needs and Company procedures.

Ensure laboratory equipment, testing facilities and QAQC assets are properly utilised, maintained and available to support daily operations.

Monitor equipment condition, calibration status and operational readiness, and coordinate servicing, maintenance or calibration requirements where necessary.

Ensure laboratory equipment records, calibration certificates, testing records and maintenance records are complete, accurate and traceable.

Maintain proper laboratory records, testing records, inspection records, sample identification, quality verification records and other QAQC documentation.

Ensure QAQC records and supporting evidence are properly maintained and readily available for Management review, audits and quality investigations.

Prepare and review daily, weekly and monthly QAQC reports, quality performance data, technical findings and improvement actions.

Monitor QAQC performance and quality trends and recommend practical improvement actions where required.

Apply continuous improvement principles to improve product quality, process consistency, laboratory performance and overall QAQC effectiveness.

Coordinate QAQC matters with Operations, Production, Sales, R&D, Maintenance and other relevant departments.

Support effective communication and coordination relating to quality issues, technical matters, customer complaints and product quality enquiries.

Participate in internal audits, external audits, customer audits, supplier assessments, certification audits, regulatory inspections, customer visits and other quality-related activities where required.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in a QAQC supervisory role, preferably in ready-mix concrete, precast concrete, construction materials or related industries.
Good knowledge of concrete quality control, raw material inspection, fresh concrete testing, hardened concrete testing and applicable technical specifications.
Experience in concrete mix design, trial mix, concrete testing and quality investigation will be an added advantage.
Good understanding of QAQC documentation, testing records, calibration requirements and quality management practices.
Able to investigate quality issues, identify possible root causes and coordinate practical corrective actions.
Good leadership, team coordination and people management skills.
Good analytical, problem-solving, communication and reporting skills.
Able to coordinate effectively with Operations, Production, Sales, customers and other internal and external stakeholders.
Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Mandarin-speaking candidates are preferred to support communication with relevant customers and business stakeholders.
