Job summary

PACIFIC ASTRAL SDN BHD is seeking a meticulous QA/QC Inspector to review drawings and specifications, implement the PQP/ITP, and oversee pre-installation inspections. The role includes monitoring surface preparation, grouting, and formwork activities, maintaining quality records, and coordinating with consultants for final certification.

The incumbent will raise RFIs, prepare daily QA/QC reports, and develop quality dossiers to ensure contract compliance and project success.

Responsibilities

• Review all IFC Drawings, Specifications, Method Statements, ITP and WMS before work commencement.
• Prepare and implement the Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) and Inspection Checklists.
• Verify that all materials supplied by the Main Contractor comply with the approved specifications before installation.
• Conduct pre-installation inspection prior to commencement of each work activity.
• Monitor and inspect activities: Surface Preparation / Hacking; HPWJ Surface Cleaning; Steel Surface Cleanliness (SSPC-SP WJ-2 / NACE WJ-2); Cadweld Installation; Steel Formwork Installation; UHPFRC Grouting Preparation; UHPFRC Placement; Formwork Removal; Final Surface Finishing.
• Verify dimensions, alignment, spacing, cover, levels and tolerances comply with approved drawings.
• Ensure reusable steel formwork is correctly installed, aligned, sealed and securely clamped before grouting.
• Witness pre-grouting inspection and confirm all hold points have been cleared before issuing work release.
• Monitor grouting operation, including: Formwork stability; Concrete filling sequence; Completion verification.
• Coordinate inspections with Dumas and Consultant.
• Raise Request for Inspection (RFI) for completed work.
• Record all inspection results and maintain quality documentation.
• Prepare Daily QA/QC Inspection Report.
• Prepare Quality Dossier including: Inspection Reports; RFI; ITP Records; Material Certificates; Calibration Certificates; Daily Reports; NCR Close-out Records.
• Raise Non-Conformance Report (NCR) whenever workmanship or materials do not comply with project requirements.
• Monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) until close-out.
• Verify completed quantities jointly with Site Engineer and Consultant for measurement and certification.
• Maintain photographic records before, during and after each work activity.
• Ensure all quality records are properly filed and traceable.
• Assist Project Manager in achieving project quality objectives and compliance with contract specifications.
