Job summary

CargoTech Kuala Lumpur is seeking a detail-oriented QA Tester to join our team and ensure high-quality software releases across web applications and APIs. You will design and execute comprehensive test plans, collaborate with developers and product managers, and help ship reliable features to our airline and freight forwarder partners.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in manual software testing, strong knowledge of QA methodologies, REST APIs, Postman, Jira, and SQL for data validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of manual software testing experience.
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and bug lifecycle.
• Experience writing and executing test cases and structured bug reports.
• Experience testing REST APIs using Postman.
• Experience using Jira or a similar issue-tracking tool.
• Familiarity with SQL for basic data validation.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication in a remote team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, execute, and maintain test cases, scenarios, and plans based on requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, exploratory, integration, and UAT testing across web apps and APIs.

• Execute tests across staging and production environments to support release validation.

• Contribute ideas to improve testing efficiency and product quality.

Your Mission

You are a detail-oriented Quality Assurance ("QA") Tester responsible for testing our web applications and API integrations to ensure high quality across every release. You will work closely with developers, product, and project management to identify issues early, document them clearly, and help ship reliable features to our airline and freight forwarder partners

What You’ll Do

• Design, write, execute, and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and test plans based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, exploratory, integration, and user acceptance testing across web applications and APIs.
• Validate API integrations and data flows using tools such as Postman.
• Execute test activities across staging and production environments to support release validation.
• Log clear and reproducible defects in Jira, including severity assessment, root cause observations, and detailed reproduction steps.
• Verify bug fixes and conduct retesting to ensure issues are fully resolved.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Developers to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Support testing efforts throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Maintain and update QA documentation, test plans, testing checklists, and release validation records.
• Identify testing gaps and raise quality concerns proactively.
• Contribute ideas to improve testing efficiency and product quality.
• Support automation initiatives by identifying test scenarios suitable for automation.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and release planning activities.
