Job summary

CargoTech Malaysia is seeking a Junior Python Developer to join our backend team in Kuala Lumpur. You will contribute to building scalable Python-based services powering our air cargo platforms.

You will work with experienced engineers and product teams to develop APIs, data pipelines and automation tools in a globally distributedTech group focused on digital transformation in logistics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 1–3 years of software development experience, preferably with Python.
• Strong knowledge of Python and modern development practices.
• Experience with web frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI or Django.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain Python-based applications and services.
• Build and enhance data collection, integration and automation tools (crawlers, data workflows).
• Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs for internal and customer-facing apps.
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes in containerized environments.
• Collaborate with product managers, senior developers and stakeholders to deliver solutions.
• Participate in monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimization.

Your Mission

As a Junior Python Developer, you will help build and maintain the technology powering the next generation of digital air cargo solutions across the CargoTech ecosystem. Working closely with experienced engineers, product specialists and industry experts, you will contribute to applications that enable airlines, freight forwarders and logistics providers to manage booking, tracking, pricing, capacity management and business intelligence more efficiently.

You will be part of a dynamic international technology environment, gaining exposure to modern software development practices while helping accelerate the digital transformation of the global air cargo industry.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will contribute to the design, development and maintenance of scalable backend services and data-driven applications supporting CargoTech and CargoAi products.

• Develop, test and maintain Python-based applications and services.


• Build and enhance data collection, integration and automation tools, including crawlers and data-processing workflows.


• Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs to support internal and customer-facing applications.


• Work with containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.


• Collaborate with product managers, senior developers and business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.


• Participate in application monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimization activities.


• Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code following engineering best practices.


• Contribute to technical documentation, development standards and knowledge sharing initiatives.


• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, scalability and reliability.


• Stay current with emerging technologies, software engineering practices and industry trends.

Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.


• 1-3 years of software development experience, preferably with Python.


• Good knowledge of Python and modern development practices.


• Experience with web frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI or Django.


• Experience with web scraping and crawling tools such as BeautifulSoup or Scrapy is a plus


• Understanding of RESTful API development and integration.


• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.


• Knowledge of Git and collaborative software development workflows.


• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.


• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.

Nice to have

• On top of English, you speak French


• Experienced in logistics related industries
