Qualifications

• Pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering field.
• Basic knowledge of engineering drawings.
• Willing to base in Kulim and comply with project hours.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Detail-oriented with good documentation discipline.
• Basic computer skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Accompany QA/QC Engineers during site inspections, quality walkdowns and testing activities.
• Assist in checking completed installation work against approved drawings, specifications, ITPs and checklists.
• Gain practical exposure to semiconductor utility systems, including process and specialty gases, CDA, N2, chemical delivery, exhaust, DI/RO water, chilled water and related systems.
• Learn about electrical hook-up work, including equipment power supply, grounding, bonding, control wiring and signal cabling.
• Observe and assist with leak tests, flushing, pressure tests, electrical tests, welding inspections and pre-commissioning checks.
• Assist in identifying discrepancies between site installation, drawings and quality requirements.
• Promptly report quality concerns to the supervisor.
• Assist in updating inspection records and handover documents.
• Compile site photographs and certificates for quality dossiers.

Job description

We are looking for a motivated QA/QC Intern who is interested in gaining practical experience in semiconductor equipment hook-up, cleanroom M&E systems and project quality control. Under the direct supervision of our QA/QC team, you will participate in site inspections, testing activities, quality documentation and follow-up work. This internship provides structured exposure to actual engineering projects and a potential career pathway within the company. High-performing and capable interns may be considered for conversion to a QA/QC Trainee, subject to successful completion of their studies, performance evaluation, business requirements and position availability.

Key responsibilities

Accompany QA/QC Engineers during site inspections, quality walkdowns and assigned testing activities.

Assist in checking completed installation work against approved drawings, specifications, method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and checklists.

Gain practical exposure to semiconductor utility systems, including process and specialty gases, CDA, N₂, chemical delivery, exhaust, DI/RO water, chilled water and other related systems.

Learn about electrical hook-up work, including equipment power supply, grounding, equipotential bonding, control wiring and signal cabling.

Observe and assist with leak tests, flushing, pressure tests, electrical tests, welding inspections and pre-commissioning checks.

Assist in identifying basic discrepancies between site installation, approved drawings and applicable quality requirements.

Promptly report quality concerns, missing documents or installation discrepancies to the assigned supervisor.

Assist in preparing, updating, organising and filing inspection checklists, test records, weld logs and other site quality records.

Assist in updating punch lists, NCR/CAR records and inspection status trackers.

Compile site photographs, test certificates, material certificates and supporting documents required for quality dossiers and project handover.

About you

Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.

Basic knowledge of engineering drawings.

Strong interest in project-site, semiconductor, cleanroom M&E or QA/QC work.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Able to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Willing to be based in Kulim or at other project sites assigned by the company.

Willing to comply with project working hours, attendance, safety and confidentiality requirements.

Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Detail-oriented with good documentation discipline.

Good teamwork and communication skills.
