Job summary

WAN LY PROTECTIVE PACKAGING SDN BHD is seeking an experienced QA/QC Consultant (Plastic Manufacturing) to optimize quality control processes, reduce scrap rates, and align manufacturing standards with global QMS guidelines. The ideal candidate brings deep polymer behavior expertise and hands-on leadership in molding/extrusion environments.

The role entails performing gap analyses, leading RCA efforts, upgrading QMS to ISO standards, and setting testing standards for materials and molded parts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Polymer Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of hands-on QA/QC leadership in plastic manufacturing (Injection Molding, Extrusion, or Blow Molding).
• Certified Six Sigma Black Belt / Green Belt, ISO Lead Auditor, or CQE preferred.
• Strong mastery of polymer material analysis, CMM inspection, SPC software, and mold design principles.
• Strong analytical skills, cross-functional leadership, and clear communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Process & Quality Audit: Conduct gap analyses across raw material receiving, molding/extrusion, secondary processing, and final packaging.
• Defect Reduction & RCA: Lead root-cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) to resolve chronic plastic defects (warpage, sink marks, flash, short shots, flow lines).
• QMS Implementation & Alignment: Upgrade existing Quality Management Systems to ISO 9001 / ISO 14000 / IATF 16949 standards.
• Validation & Testing Standards: Author and review IQ/OQ/PQ protocols for molds, tooling, and equipment; establish testing standards for MFI, moisture, tensile/impact properties.
• SPC & Process Optimization: Establish SPC charts and capability indices to optimize barrel temperatures, hold pressures, and cycle times.
• SOPs: Develop clear visual defect boundaries, work instructions, and quality acceptance criteria for floor operators and inspectors.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Consultant (Plastic Manufacturing) to optimize our quality control processes, reduce scrap rates, and align our manufacturing standards with global QMS guidelines. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in polymer behavior, molding/extrusion processes, root cause analysis, and quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities

Process & Quality Audit: Conduct comprehensive gap analyses across raw material receiving, molding/extrusion operations, secondary processing, and final packaging.

Defect Reduction & RCA: Lead root-cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) to resolve chronic plastic defects (warpage, sink marks, flash, short shots, flow lines).

QMS Implementation & Alignment: Upgrade existing Quality Management Systems to comply with ISO 9001 / ISO 14000 / IATF 16949 standards.

Validation & Testing Standards: Author and review IQ/OQ/PQ protocols for molds, tooling, and equipment. Establish testing standards for Melt Flow Index (MFI), moisture levels, and tensile/impact properties.

SPC & Process Optimization: Establish Statistical Process Control charts and determine capability indices to optimize barrel temperatures, hold pressures, and cycle times.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop clear visual defect boundaries, work instructions, and quality acceptance criteria for floor operators and inspectors.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Polymer Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience: 7+ years of hands-on QA/QC leadership in plastic manufacturing (Injection Molding, Extrusion, or Blow Molding).
Certifications: Certified Six Sigma Black Belt / Green Belt, ISO Lead Auditor, or CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) preferred.
