Job summary

Talent Recruit represents a food processing manufacturer in Shah Alam, seeking a QA/QC Assistant Manager or Manager to strengthen its food safety and quality management systems.

The role requires leading the QA/QC team, coordinating audits, and driving continuous improvement in FSSC22000, HACCP, GMP, Halal and MeSTI compliance. Strong Mandarin ability is required for liaising with suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in food science or related field.
• Min 5 years QA/QC experience for Assistant Manager; 8 years for Manager in food processing.
• Strong knowledge of FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, Halal and MeSTI.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the implementation and improvement of food safety and quality systems.
• Manage QA/QC team and ensure compliance with SOPs and regulations.
• Lead audits and ensure corrective actions are closed on time.
• Monitor quality metrics, investigate deviations, and resolve issues.
• Liaise with suppliers and customers on quality matters and documentation.
• Drive training programs on food safety and hygiene; report KPIs to management.

About the job QA/QC Assistant Manager or Manager

Company Background

We are representing our client a food processing manufacturer for the retail and foodservice sectors. They are certified under FSSC22000, ISO22000, HACCP, GMP, MeSTI and Halal. They are currently seeking for a QA/QC Assistant Manager or Manager to strengthen their food safety and quality management systems.

• 5 Working Days: 8am - 6pm

Main Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the companys Food Safety Management Systems (FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, Halal, MeSTI)
• Manage and supervise the QA/QC team to ensure compliance with internal SOPs and regulatory requirements
• Lead third-party and internal audits; ensure all corrective actions are closed within timelines
• Monitor quality metrics, investigate quality deviations, and resolve product or process issues
• Liaise with customers on quality-related matters and documentation
• Drive training programs for production and QC staff on food safety and hygiene
• Report regularly to management on quality KPIs, audit results, and compliance status

Requirements

• Min Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Tech, Biotechnology etc.
• Assistant Manager: Min 5 years of QA/QC experience in food processing
• Manager: Min 8 years of QA/QC experience in food processing
• Strong working knowledge of FSSC22000, HACCP, GMP, Halal and MeSTI
• Leadership in audits, quality assurance systems, regulatory compliance
• Ability to speak in Mandarin due to require to liaise with Mandarin speaking suppliers and customers.
• Able to liaise with external auditors and authorities, adaptble to SME environment.
