Job summary

ITW Meritex Sdn Bhd (Automotive Division) in Penang seeks a Quality Engineer to oversee incoming, in-process and outgoing quality, interface with customers and suppliers, and drive containment and warranty actions.

Responsibilities include corrective actions, 8D, and continuous improvement, with QMS/EMS participation and NPI for QA scope. Travel may be required to support the quality program.

Qualifications

• Tertiary education in Engineering/Science.
• Knowledge in 8D, QC 7 tools, Fish Bone Diagram, FTA, 5 Why, Control Plan, FMEA, Mechanical Drawing, MSA, Calibration, SPTT, IATF16949, ISO 14001 & ISO 9001 Quality System, auditing and documentary control.
• Able to manage a group of people if needed.
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and communication skills.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in similar position / Fresh Graduates
• Able to travel for business purpose as when assigned.

Responsibilities

• Manage in-coming, in-process, outgoing, containment, customer interface, supplier interface, field warranty and any other quality related issue.
• Corrective action and permanent action pursuance, reply, follow-up and verification.
• Tracking PQS data for management review.
• Formulating the MSA capability for all gauges and develop new checking fixture.
• Identify the point of improvement in term of quality, productivity, safety, health and environment. Per identified data, drive continuous improvement program.
• Collect and manage data reporting for performance of quality and environment systems to top management for review and improvement.
• Taken part in implementing QMS and EMS system. Participate in Quality Audit activities.
• Taken part in NPI for QA related scope and new part qualification (for customer and for supplier)
• To fulfil EHS procedures such as use of PPE, understand the chemical biodata, label and safety data sheet, segregate waste and report any incident happen immediately.
• To complies with and support in the Quality, Safety and Health, Environment program, policies, procedures of Quality and Environmental Management system requirements.
• Develop Work Instruction, any other quality related document and train subordinate.
• Other duties assign by Section Head from time to time.
