Job summary

Kemikon Sdn. Bhd. in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join its manufacturing team and drive FAI activities to ensure parts meet drawings and specifications.

The role requires 3–5 years in manufacturing as FAI/QA in the semiconductor sector, with knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding and surface treatment. You will train inspectors and help implement quality control systems to reduce defects.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing as FAI Engineer in semicon industry.
• Knowledge in sheet metal fabrication, welding and powder coating or surface treatment.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to interpret GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers during NPI and FAI review.
• Collaborate with NPI Engineer during NPI and FAI stage.
• Perform inspection and qualification of FAI parts.
• Coordinate with external QA technician to ensure part inspections meet drawing requirements.
• Assist QC Technician during parts troubleshooting from raw material to finished product.
• Develop and implement quality standards in QC inspection levels and systems.
• Monitor and analyse FAI quality performance.
• Provide training to Inspectors and Technicians to enhance inspection skills.
• Develop corrective actions and improvements to reduce manufacturing failures.
• Collaborate with operations managers to develop controls and improvements.
• Assure process workflow and product comply with safety requirements.

Job description

Communicate with Customer during parts NPI and FAI review.

Collaborate with NPI Engineer during NPI and FAI stage.

Perform inspection and qualification of FAI parts.

Coordinate with external Quality Assurance technician to ensure part inspection are in accordance with the drawing requirements.

Assist QC Technician during parts trouble shooting from Raw material level to finished product.

Develop and implement quality standard in all level of Quality Control inspection including implementing of quality control systems.

Monitor and Analyse FAI quality performance.

Perform inspection and material testing, measuring equipment process and product to ensure customer quality requirements are met.

Provide continuous training to all Inspectors and Technician to enhance the inspection skills.

Develop corrective action,solution and improvement to reduce manufacturing failure.

Collaborate with the operation managers to develop and implement control and solution and improvement.

Assure the process workflow and product comply with standard safety requirements.

Requirement

3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing as FAI Engineer experience in semiconductor industry.

Knowledge in sheet metal fabrication, welding and powder coating or surface treatment.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Ability to interpret GD&T
