We are seeking a technically skilled Protection Relay & Automation Engineer to support the installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and integration of electrical protection, automation, SCADA, and control systems.
Install, configure, test, and commission protection relays and electrical protection systems.
Perform primary/secondary injection, trip, alarm, interlock, and functional testing.
Test and troubleshoot SCADA, RTU, PLC, and communication interfaces.
Work with protocols such as IEC 61850, Modbus, IEC 60870-5-104, and DNP3.
Troubleshoot electrical, protection, automation, wiring, and communication issues.
Read and interpret single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and protection drawings.
Support commissioning of switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, and other critical power systems.
Coordinate with customers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and project teams.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and subcontractors.
Prepare test procedures, commissioning reports, test records, and as-built documentation.
Ensure all site activities comply with electrical safety and project requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
3–5 years of relevant experience in protection relay testing, electrical commissioning, automation, SCADA, or power systems.
Hands-on experience with protection relays and testing equipment.
Experience with Siemens, Schneider, ABB, SEL, or similar relay platforms is advantageous.
Knowledge of OMICRON or equivalent relay testing equipment preferred.
Experience with MV/HV systems, switchgear, data centres, or critical power systems is an advantage.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
Willing to work at customer sites, travel, and support extended hours during commissioning when required.
Experience with SIPROTEC, Reyrolle, MiCOM, Easergy, or SEL relays.
IEC 61850 or SCADA/industrial communication training.
Relevant electrical commissioning or safety certifications.
