Job summary

Pinnacle Group is seeking a Legal Executive to join the Legal and Compliance team in Malaysia. You will provide comprehensive legal support for property development, ensure regulatory compliance, and assist with due diligence and conveyancing across multiple projects.

The role requires a Law degree with admission as an Advocate and Solicitor and a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in property law. Strong communication skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin are essential.

Qualifications

• Law degree with admission as Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya or equivalent professional qualification
• Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in property law, conveyancing or real estate/property development
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian property laws, regulations and conveyancing procedures
• Experience in drafting and reviewing property-related contracts and legal documentation
• Sound understanding of property transaction processes and development regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders
• Proficient in written and spoken English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin; ability to communicate local dialects would be an added advantage
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal management software
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
• Professional approach and commitment to client confidentiality
• Familiarity with property development timelines, costs and commercial considerations would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and analysing property contracts, agreements and legal documentation relating to development projects
• Providing legal advice and support on property development matters, including land acquisition, planning approvals and regulatory compliance
• Assisting with due diligence investigations for property transactions and development opportunities
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements and legal instruments required for property development initiatives
• Supporting the conveyancing process for property transactions, including liaising with external legal practitioners and regulatory authorities
• Assisting with regulatory compliance matters, including town planning, local authority approvals and environmental requirements
• Maintaining property legal files, documentation and records in an organised and secure manner
• Liaising with external stakeholders, including property consultants, contractors, government agencies and financial institutions
• Assisting with the resolution of legal disputes and claims arising from property transactions or development activities
• Supporting the Executive Chairman with general legal administration and departmental matters as required
