Job summary

Matrix Flavours & Fragrances Sdn Bhd is seeking a hands-on Project & Process Engineer to manage the installation, commissioning and integration of our operations system. You will also oversee maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and process optimisation, ensuring reliability and efficiency across our flavour production lines.

You will coordinate with suppliers, consultants and internal teams, supervise calibration and measurements, and drive continuous improvements in equipment performance

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Process, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in machinery installation, commissioning, automation, equipment maintenance or process improvement.
• Hands-on knowledge of pumps, valves, load cells, sensors, PLCs, instrumentation and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage machinery installation projects from delivery and testing through commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate with representatives, consultants, contractors and internal departments.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, milestones and implementation progress.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, PLC and automation-related issues.
• Maintain the performance of pumps, valves, load cells, sensors and control systems.
• Develop preventive-maintenance schedules and perform root cause analysis for equipment failures.
• Coordinate calibration of weighing systems, temperature sensors and flow meters.
• Monitor related heating and cooling systems to maintain stable process conditions.
• Record maintenance activities, breakdowns and downtime in the ERP system.
• Recommend improvements to equipment reliability, dosing accuracy, energy efficiency and productivity.

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Project & Process Engineer to manage the installation, commissioning and integration of our operations system. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the system's ongoing maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and process optimisation.

Key responsibilities

Manage machinery installation projects from delivery and testing through commissioning and handover.

About you

Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Process, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.

At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in machinery installation, commissioning, automation, equipment maintenance or process improvement.

Hands-on knowledge of pumps, valves, load cells, sensors, PLCs, instrumentation and control systems.

Experience with automated batching and dosing systems is an advantage.

Manufacturing experience in flavours, fragrances, food ingredients, food processing, chemical, pharmaceutical or FMCG industries is preferred.

Able to read technical drawings, equipment layouts, wiring diagrams and process-flow diagrams.

Knowledge of preventive maintenance, calibration, root cause analysis and CAPA.

Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project or EPICOR is an advantage.

Strong project management, troubleshooting, communication and coordination skills.

Proficient in reading Chinese technical documents and communicate effectively with China-based machinery vendors.
