Job summary

Asia Baru Construction Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Project Planner to develop, maintain, and monitor schedules for infrastructure projects using MS Project and Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with contractual timelines.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related field, with 5–8 years of planning experience, proficiency in MS Project, and familiarity with AutoCAD. Knowledge of Malaysian public project procedures is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in project planning and scheduling for infrastructure construction projects
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project for schedule development, WBS preparation, baseline schedules, and progress updating
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 is preferred
• Familiarity with AutoCAD for reading and interpreting technical drawings
• Knowledge of JKR project implementation procedures, progress monitoring requirements, and contract administration is advantageous for Malaysian public projects

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using planning software (Microsoft Project / Primavera P6)
• Prepare detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), baseline schedules, and resource-loaded programmes
• Update weekly and monthly progress reports, including schedule updates, progress analysis, and recovery plans
• Monitor project progress against approved schedules and identify potential delays, risks, and critical activities
• Perform critical path analysis, float path analysis, and earned value analysis
• Track project milestones and ensure compliance with contractual requirements and project deliverables
• Investigate causes of delay and major slippage of works

Project Planner responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring comprehensive project schedules for infrastructure construction projects using planning software and ensuring project progress aligns with approved timelines and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using planning software (Microsoft Project / Primavera P6)

About you
