Job summary

VAT Group in Malaysia is seeking a Program/Project Manager to lead New Product Development, customization projects, and product transfers from HQ to the Malaysia plant. You will guide projects through multiple milestones and work closely with Product Manager, Development Engineer, Buyer, Quality, and NPI teams to ensure alignment and on-time delivery.

• 5 years working experience as Program/Project Manager or similar role.

• Excellent communication (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Lead New Product Development or Customization projects and Product Transfer from HQ to Malaysia plant.
• Form and lead cross-functional project teams; acquire resources from various departments.
• Develop and monitor project plans, milestones, and KPIs; manage risks and issues.
• Provide timely project status reports to management and key stakeholders.
• Ensure process compliance and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

Roles, Responsibilities and Job Expectations

• You will be assigned to New Product Development or Customization Product or Product Transfer Project (mainly from HQ to Malaysia plant).
• Lead project through VAT’s Evolve Producst & Services process with several milestones (Ideation, Concept, Design, prototype, verification, industrialize, commercialize)
• You will work in close collaboration with various disciplines such as Product Manager, Development Engineer, Buyer Specialist, Product Quality Engineer, New Product Introduction Engineer, Lab Engineer and may not limited to it.
• Responsible to acquire project resources (team members) from various departments and form a project team accordingly.
• Take a leadership role and navigate project team towards project goals.
• Develop project management plan, execution of the plan in a timely manner, consistently monitor project progress and actively attend to project risk, issue, or anything that could give a negative impact to a project.
• Responsible for project KPIs (scope, schedule, project-cost and product-cost)
• Ensure all defined project deliverables and process compliance are met
• Provide project status report to superior, Management & key-stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
• Ensure communication and engagement with project key-stakeholders are always at the optimum level.
• Utilize Project Management Software for project needs, efficiency and report generation.
• Attend VAT Innovation Project Review and Process Complance Board (Management) for a status report, change request or project milestone approval.
• Proactively contribute and support in continuous improvement activities.

Minimum Qualification:

• Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
• 5 years working experience as Program/Project Manager or Project Leader or Project Engineer or Project Coordinator
• Experience in New Product Development or New Product Introduction (Manufacturing) or Product transfer project
• Lead or work as part of cross-functional or international team.
• Excellent in communication (verbal and writing)

Preferred Qualification:

• Professional Project Management certification such as PMP, PMI-ACP from recognized organization (such as PMI, IPMA)
• Hands-on with project management software (such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, Dynamic 365, etc.)
• Experience or knowledgeable in manufacturing processes, Vacuum-valve, Semi-conductor process/application.
• People management /people-manager role
