Job summary

Flex is seeking a Project Manager for Prai, Penang, to oversee medium-complexity projects and ensure performance indicators such as cost, delivery, and quality are met. The role involves coordinating with engineers, senior management, and consultants from project initiation through transfer.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in engineering (Master’s preferred) and at least 5 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Typically requires at least 5 years of experience in materials, sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing and/or program administration.

Responsibilities

• Establish project schedule, financial parameters, and technical requirements from initiation through transfer.
• Communicate customer requirements, specs, schedule and budget to cross-functional teams.
• Review production schedule, identify problem areas and provide technical direction to resolve issues.
• Develop status reports including project financials and ensure alignment with customer requirements.
• Conduct presentations of technical information concerning projects and schedules.
• Assist in management of larger projects/programs.
• Provide guidance to junior project/product managers to meet policies.
• Interact with customers and senior/middle management as needed.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Project Manager in Prai, Penang.

Responsible for managing projects of medium complexity in order to meet performance indicators (cost, delivery, quality, etc.) of a specific organization.

What a typical day looks like:

• Establish project schedule, financial parameters, and technical requirements, managing project from initiation through transfer.
• Communicate customer requirements, specifications, project schedule, and budget constraints to cross-functional teams, including engineers, senior management, and consultants.
• Review daily production schedule and identify problem areas. Assess causes of problems and provide technical support and direction to project team to resolve issues.
• Develop status reports, including project financials, ensuring project team is meeting customer requirements and measuring cost control. Maintain project plan documents, procedures, and project deliverables.
• Conduct presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules, etc.
• Assist in the management of larger projects/programs.
• Provide advice to lower-level Project/Product Managers to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.
• Recommend changes to policies which may affect subordinate organization(s). Interact frequently with customers and/or functional peer group managers.
• May interact with senior management; frequently interact with middle management and professionals.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in materials, sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing and/or program administration or related experience.
