Job summary

Lead end-to-end projects from concept through production in a dynamic high-tech electronics environment. You will drive product transfer and industrialisation while ensuring quality, cost, and timely delivery, delivering customer-focused production-ready solutions for Neways Malaysia.

The role requires a seasoned Project Manager with strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a proven track record in managing complex programs with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in project or program management within a high-tech environment.
• Or a proven track record of at least 2 years of successful performance as a project manager.
• IPMA-C certification is an advantage.
• Additional training such as PgM, MSP, MoP, AgilePM, or Executive Agile Leadership is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project execution from design/engineering to production.
• Translate customer requirements into clear roadmaps and execution plans.
• Align customer needs with technical feasibility and Neways’ strategic goals.
• Establish the PMO structure for Neways Malaysia.
• Drive cross-functional coordination across Production, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Business Development.
• Coach and guide multidisciplinary project teams.
• Manage project financials: budget, forecast, reporting, and profitability.
• Oversee risks, issues, and change management using formal PM frameworks.
• Escalate critical blockers promptly to protect project timelines.

Job requirements

The Project Manager is responsible for managing from small to large complex projects from the design and engineering phase through to production. The role focuses on achieving strategic, operational, and financial success, balancing customer interests, technical feasibility, and Neways’ business objectives. Operating at a senior level, the Project Manager carries end-to-end responsibility for project outcomes, including profitability and cost control.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project execution from design/engineering to production.
• Translate customer requirements into clear roadmaps and execution plans.
• Align customer needs with technical feasibility and Neways’ strategic goals.
• Establish the Project Management Office (PMO) structure for Neways Malaysia.
• Drive cross-functional coordination across Production, Enginering, Quality, Procurement, and Business Development.
• Act as the single point of contact across internal stakeholders.
• Coach and guide multidisciplinary project teams.
• Manage project financials: budget, forecast, reporting, and profitability.
• Oversee risks, issues, and change management using formal PM frameworks.
• Escalate critical blockers promptly to protect project timelines.
• Engage relevant government authorities (e.g., Bomba, DOSH, and other regulatory bodies) to ensure compliance for new project development.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and dashboards for visibility.
