Private Advertiser in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead generator projects from planning to commissioning. You will ensure on-time delivery within budget, coordinating with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams.
The role requires 3–5 years in project management for generator or related projects, with strong knowledge of diesel generators and electrical systems. Travel to project sites is expected.
We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, installation, testing, and commissioning of generator projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and according to client and technical requirements.
Plan, manage, and oversee generator projects from project award through completion and handover
Coordinate the supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of generator systems
Develop project schedules, work plans, manpower requirements, and resource allocation
Manage with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution
Review project specifications, drawings, technical requirements, and contractual obligations
Monitor project progress, costs, quality, and overall performance against agreed targets
Coordinate site activities and ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and safety requirements
Manage procurement and delivery of generators, switchboards, fuel systems, cabling, control systems, and other related equipment
Identify and resolve technical, commercial, and site‑related issues promptly
Conduct regular site meetings and project progress meetings with relevant stakeholders
Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 3-5 years of project management experience, preferably in generator, electrical, M&E, construction, or power-related projects
Strong knowledge of diesel generators, electrical distribution systems, synchronisation systems, ATS/AMF panels, control systems, and generator installation
Experience managing site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and multiple stakeholders
Good understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and cost control
Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings and technical specifications
Strong problem‑solving, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
Able to work independently and manage multiple projects or priorities
Willing to travel to project sites when required
Relevant local safety certifications or project management qualifications will be an advantage
