Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Malaysia is seeking a Project Lead Engineer based in Petaling Jaya to steer the engineering strategy for critical infrastructure projects, including GIS substations, BESS, and e-mobility. You will manage technical deliverables and cross-functional relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams such as Project Management and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of direct working experience in electrical engineering, focusing on high voltage equipment.
• Experience with cable, cable trays, and earthing packages.
• Familiarity with IEC/IEEE standards relevant to listed equipment.
• Ability to review system study documents such as load flow and short circuit reports.
• Proficient in English communication, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Oversee complete technical deliverables in line with project schedule and quality standards.
• Drive engineering activities on the project, coordinating with Project Management, Supply Chain, and other teams.
• Lead technical discussions with customers and suppliers.
• Provide cost-effective, high-quality technical solutions within budget and contractual requirements.
• Support tendering by ensuring the technical offering complies with contract requirements and adds value.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
• Take responsibility for actions while supporting colleagues and the business.
