Job summary

Hitachi Energy Malaysia is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer – HV Substation to lead technical planning and execution of complex substation projects. You will bridge gaps between technical teams and stakeholders, ensuring designs meet Hitachi’s high standards.

You will provide expert guidance across the lifecycle, translating business needs into precise technical specs, and contributing to risk assessment and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in technical engineering roles within substation projects.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage substation products and engineering principles.
• Proficient in CAD, simulation, and programming tools.
• Ability to manage complex projects and priorities under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical guidance and support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle, from design to deployment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and define technical requirements and translate them into specifications and architectural designs.
• Oversee development, integration, and testing of solutions, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks; lead troubleshooting to resolve complex issues and ensure project continuity.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and provide regular progress reports to project managers and stakeholders.
