Job summary

YIKEINNO MORPHING ITECH SDN BHD is seeking a site engineer/coordinator to oversee data centre rack and stack activities, supervise cabling, and provide on-site support for installation, testing and fault rectification. Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee data centre rack and stack activities, including server rack installation and equipment mounting.
• Supervise structured cabling works (fibre optic and copper), cable routing, dressing, termination and labeling.
• Provide on-site technical support for installation, testing, troubleshooting, and rectification of cabling and rack issues.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, method statements, specs, and client requirements.
• Coordinate delivery, materials, tools, manpower, and site readiness before work starts.
• Supervise blue-collar workers, technicians, installation teams, and subcontractors on site.
• Assign daily tasks, explain work requirements, and monitor productivity and quality.
• Liaise with client Project Engineer/Manager and main contractor to coordinate daily activities.
• Ensure safety requirements, site regulations, and client safety procedures are followed.
• Ensure completed works meet quality standards and arrange rectification of defects.

This role involves coordinating and overseeing data centre rack and stack activities, supervising structured cabling works, and providing on-site technical support for installation, testing, troubleshooting, and rectification of cabling and rack-related issues. You will ensure installation works comply with approved drawings, method statements, technical specifications, and client requirements, while coordinating equipment delivery, material availability, tools, manpower, and site readiness. You will supervise and coordinate blue-collar workers, technicians, installation teams, and subcontractor personnel, and liaise with clients, project managers, and main contractors to coordinate daily work activities.

Key responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee data centre rack and stack activities, including server rack installation, equipment mounting, rack positioning, and associated installation works

Supervise structured cabling works, including fibre optic and copper cabling, cable routing, cable dressing, termination, labelling, and cable management

Provide on-site technical support for installation, testing, troubleshooting, and rectification of cabling and rack-related issues

Ensure installation works comply with approved drawings, method statements, technical specifications, and client requirements

Coordinate equipment delivery, material availability, tools, manpower, and site readiness before work commencement

Supervise and coordinate blue-collar workers, technicians, installation teams, and subcontractor personnel at the project site

Allocate daily tasks, explain work requirements, and monitor workers' productivity and quality of work

Liaise with the client's Project Engineer, Project Manager, site representatives, and main contractor to coordinate daily work activities

Ensure all site activities comply with applicable Malaysian workplace safety requirements, site regulations, and client safety procedures

Ensure completed works meet the required quality standards and arrange rectification of defects or non-conforming works

About you

Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related discipline

Relevant experience in data centre projects, IT infrastructure installation, structured cabling, or site engineering

Practical knowledge of rack and stack activities, fibre optic and copper cabling, cable management, and basic testing and troubleshooting

Experience coordinating site workers, technicians, main contractors, and subcontractors

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, installation layouts, method statements, and project specifications

Good project coordination, problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills

Able to prepare site progress reports and maintain project documentation

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Willingness to travel between project sites and work extended hours when required by project schedules
