Job summary

Polyplas Sdn. Bhd. in Bukit Mertajam is seeking a Project Engineer to plan, coordinate, and drive plastic injection molding projects from design review through tooling, trials and production handover.

You will work with internal teams and external suppliers/customers to meet quality, cost and delivery targets, maintaining strong documentation and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Polymer, Mechanical, Industrial) or related field.
• Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in plastic injection molding or precision component production.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards (ISO, IATF).

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute plastic injection molding projects from design review to tooling, trials and handover to production.
• Monitor progress, manage timelines and maintain project documentation.

Role Description

The Project Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bukit Mertajam. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects related to plastic injection molding, from initial design review through tooling, trial runs, and handover to production. The Project Engineer collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to define requirements, manage timelines, and address technical issues to ensure projects meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. Daily responsibilities include overseeing project documentation, monitoring progress, conducting risk assessments, and supporting process optimization and continuous improvement activities. The role also requires regular communication with suppliers and customers to clarify specifications and resolve project-related concerns.

Qualifications

• Strong project-focused skills, including Project Engineering, Project Management, and Project Planning.
• Relevant technical expertise, such as Polymer Engineering or other engineering disciplines related to manufacturing.
• Effective interpersonal and Communication skills for coordinating with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Polymer, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in plastic injection molding or precision component production.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards (ISO, IATF) and apply them in project execution.
• Proficiency in project planning tools and basic office software; familiarity with CAD or related engineering software is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
