Job summary

SEED SYSTEM SDN. BHD. is seeking a site engineer to assist with installation, alignment, and hookup of CDU systems at a fast-paced, on-site environment. The role involves pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, basic testing, and coordination with vendors and engineers.

The candidate should have a diploma or degree in mechanical or electrical fields and 2–5 years of site experience, preferably in M&E, piping or data centres. Based in Batam with potential for site travel.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical field.
• 2–5 years site experience (M&E / piping / data centre preferred).
• Hands-on experience in installation, testing, or commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation, alignment, and hookup of CDU systems and related equipment.
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities on site.
• Conduct basic testing (pressure test, leak check, functional checks).
• Supervise subcontractors and workers on site, ensuring work follows drawings, MOS and schedule.
• Record readings and prepare flushing, testing and commissioning reports.

Job description

Assist in installation, alignment, and hookup of CDU systems

Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities

Conduct basic testing (pressure test, leak check, functional checks)

Work with vendors/engineers to troubleshoot site issues

Ensure installation follows drawings and method statements

2. Piping Works & Flushing Execution

Execute and monitor flushing activities (DI water flushing, passivation)

Set up flushing systems (pump, hoses, filters, tanks)

Monitor:

Flow rate

Pressure

Water quality (clarity, contamination indicators)

Assist in chemical dosing and flushing cycles

Record readings and prepare flushing reports

3. Load Bank Setup & Testing

Assist in setup and connection of load banks (air / liquid cooled)

Support power-up, load stepping, and shutdown procedures

Identify and report issues (e.g. tripping, imbalance, connection faults)

Support basic troubleshooting on-site

4. Site Supervision & Coordination

Supervise subcontractors and workers on site

Ensure works are carried out according to schedule and quality requirements

Coordinate daily activities with Project Manager

Support material receiving, checking, and site logistics

5. Safety & Documentation

Follow and enforce site safety requirements

Support preparation and execution of:

Method Statements (MOS)

Daily reports

Test records

Checklists

Requirements

Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant field

2–5 years site experience (M&E / piping / data centre preferred)

Hands-on experience in installation, testing, or commissioning

Comfortable working on-site in a fast-paced environment

Willing to be based in Batam

Good to Have

Exposure to:

Flushing / water treatment works

Cooling systems / piping systems

Load bank or electrical testing

Basic understanding of drawings (P&ID, layout)

Experience working with subcontractors
