Job summary

HTC Global Services MSC Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead large-scale Core Banking System transformation programmes for a leading financial institution in Kuala Lumpur. You will drive end-to-end delivery, governance and cross-functional collaboration with senior stakeholders and vendors.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in IT, proven Core Banking leadership and extensive experience with major banking platforms, data migration, testing, UAT and go-live readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering/Business or related discipline.
• 15+ years of IT experience with large-scale banking technology programmes.
• Proven experience as Project/Programme Director or Senior delivery leader.
• Direct Core Banking System experience required.
• Experience leading at least one Core Banking implementation, migration, upgrade or transformation.
• Strong experience with Core Banking platforms such as Temenos T24, TransactFinacle, Oracle FLEXCUBE, Finestra, Mambu, Avaloq or similar.
• Strong understanding of Core Banking architecture, system integration and enterprise apps.
• Experience in data migration, system integration, testing/UAT, cutover and go-live.
• Strong PMO and governance capabilities.
• Experience managing large budgets with multiple vendors/SIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale Core Banking System programmes from initiation to stabilisation.
• Establish programme strategy, governance, roadmap, milestones and success criteria.
• Manage scope, budget, resources, risks, issues, dependencies and timelines.
• Lead cross-functional teams across business, technology, architecture, apps, infra, testing and operations.
• Oversee Core Banking implementation, data migration, testing, UAT, cutover and production readiness.
• Collaborate with Core Banking vendors, SIs and technology partners.
• Maintain senior stakeholder relationships across Business, IT, Risk and exec management.
• Establish and chair governance, steering committee and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with banking governance, risk, security and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and resolve programme risks and delivery issues.

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead large-scale Core Banking System transformation and technology programmes for a leading financial institution. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end programme delivery, working closely with senior business and technology stakeholders, vendors and implementation partners.

This role requires a proven track record in Core Banking System implementation, migration, upgrade or transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale Core Banking System programmes, from initiation and planning through implementation, migration, cutover and stabilisation.
• Establish programme strategy, governance, delivery roadmap, milestones and key success criteria.
• Manage overall programme scope, budget, resources, risks, issues, dependencies and timelines.
• Lead cross-functional teams comprising business, technology, architecture, application, infrastructure, testing and operations teams.
• Manage Core Banking implementation and transformation activities, including system integration, data migration, testing, UAT, cutover and production readiness.
• Work closely with Core Banking vendors, System Integrators and third‑party technology partners.
• Manage senior stakeholder relationships across Business, IT, Risk, Compliance, Operations and executive management.
• Establish and chair programme governance, steering committee and senior management reporting.
• Ensure programme delivery complies with banking governance, risk, security and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and resolve critical programme risks, technical dependencies and delivery issues.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related discipline.
• 15+ years of IT experience, with significant experience in large-scale banking technology programmes.
• Proven experience as a Project Director, Programme Director, Programme Manager, Senior Project Manager or equivalent senior delivery leadership role.
• Direct Core Banking System experience.
• Proven experience leading at least one Core Banking implementation, migration, upgrade, replacement or transformation programme.
• Strong experience with one or more Core Banking platforms such as: Temenos T24 / TransactFinacle, Oracle FLEXCUBE, Finestra, Mambu, Avaloq, or other major Core Banking platforms.
• Strong understanding of Core Banking architecture, system integration, interfaces and enterprise applications.
• Experience in data migration, system integration, testing/UAT, cutover and go-live.
• Strong programme governance and PMO experience.
• Proven experience managing large budgets, complex programmes and multiple vendors/System Integrators.
