Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a skilled Project Design Engineer to support the mechanical design and execution of wastewater treatment systems from concept through site installation.

You will collaborate with design, project, and fabrication teams to ensure accurate, cost-effective solutions. You will develop detailed designs, review drawings for accuracy, perform on-site measurements, and prepare BOMs to drive compliant delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 1–2 years of working experience in Mechanical System Design and Drafting.
• Experience in water/wastewater treatment industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design and project teams to translate customer requirements into practical, efficient, and cost-effective design solutions.
• Develop and prepare detailed mechanical designs and engineering drawings from concepts and specifications.
• Complete and maintain documentation packages including drawing sets, datasheets, and technical reports.
• Review and verify design drawings for accuracy, technical soundness, and compliance with project specs and standards.
• Conduct on-site measurements and translate field data into accurate engineering drawings.
• Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) coordinating with procurement and project teams.
• Work with fabrication teams to identify issues and propose design improvements for constructability and performance.
• Perform quality inspections during fabrication and installation to ensure adherence to design intent.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Design Engineer to support the mechanical design and execution of wastewater treatment systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the design, project, and fabrication teams to ensure accurate, cost-effective, and efficient delivery of engineering solutions from concept through to site installation.

Key responsibilities

Collaborate with design and project teams to ensure customer requirements are translated into practical, efficient, and cost-effective design solutions.

Develop and prepare detailed mechanical designs and engineering drawings based on initial concepts, sketches, and technical specifications.

Complete and maintain comprehensive documentation packages, including drawing sets, datasheets, and technical reports, based on project and team needs.

Review and verify design drawings to ensure accuracy, technical soundness, and compliance with project specifications and relevant design standards.

Conduct on-site measurements and translate field data into accurate engineering and fabrication drawings.

Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on finalized design drawings, coordinating with procurement and project teams where necessary.

Work closely with the fabrication team to identify potential operational or manufacturing issues and recommend design improvements to enhance constructability and performance.

Perform quality inspections and checks during fabrication and installation phases to ensure adherence to design intent and engineering standards.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Minimum 1-2 years of working experience in Mechanical System Design and Drafting.

Strong ability to conceptualize and develop preliminary designs.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Solidwork & AutoCad is compulsory.

Willingness to travel to project sites.

Experience in water/ wastewater treatment industry is an added advantage.
