Job summary

CoMade is seeking a Project Controls Officer based in Kuala Lumpur to support engineered projects from concept through completion. You will develop and maintain schedules (Primavera P6/MS Project), establish baselines, track costs, and forecast outcomes while working with project managers and stakeholders to keep delivery on time and budget.

The role emphasizes cost control, change management, risk analysis, and reporting for multi-disciplinary engineering projects, with opportunities to mentor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 4+ years' experience in project controls, cost engineering, or planning/scheduling roles within engineering, construction, or infrastructure delivery.
  • Proficiency with scheduling software (Primavera P6 and/or MS Project).
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with cost/EVM systems (e.g. SAP, Ecosys, or similar).
  • Experience delivering project controls on client-facing, multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with risk analysis tools (e.g. Primavera Risk Analysis, @Risk).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules (Primavera P6, MS Project) across engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
  • Establish schedule baselines and manage change control processes.
  • Develop and maintain project cost baselines, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Track committed costs, actual expenditure, and accruals against budget.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly project status reports for internal leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Analyse CPI and SPI trends.
  • Support quantitative schedule and cost risk analysis (Monte Carlo).
  • Support project audits, stage-gate reviews, and governance reporting.

About this role

Based on KL, the Project Controls Officer plays a key role in supporting the successful delivery of engineering projects for our clients, providing accurate, timely, and actionable insights on cost, schedule, risk, and progress. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineering Leads, and client stakeholders, this role helps establish robust project baselines, track performance against plan, forecast likely outcomes, and recommend corrective actions where needed ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
