Job summary

SBM Offshore N.V. in Kuala Lumpur seeks a seasoned Project Contract Manager to oversee major contracts across the project lifecycle.

You will ensure compliance, optimize commercial outcomes, and coordinate with the supply chain and subcontractors to deliver on time and within budget. You will lead contract strategy development, manage risk, and maintain audit trails while supporting project teams through the entire execution phase.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of contract management experience including Claims, EPCI, subcontract management.
• Broad experience in sales and lease contracts, and contract negotiation.
• Experience interfacing with project execution teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage Main Contracts across projects.
• Coordinate and expedite contract deliverables and requirements.
• Develop contracting strategies, including Sub-contracts & Supply Chain.
• Monitor performance and compliance with contractual requirements and signatory powers.
• Ensure commercial and contractual awareness across the Project Team.
• Maintain auditability of all commercial and contractual dealings with regular reporting.
• Participate in Risk and Opportunities management.
• Provide Contract Feedback during the life of the project.
• Ensure Guarantee period management.

Purpose

• The Project Contract Manager provides Contract Management support for major projects or unit execution across Supply Chain, Client focus and Subcontracting to ensure a contractually compliant and a commercially optimised contract. You ensure the mitigation of risk and maximisation of opportunity.

Responsibilities

• You manage Main Contracts.
• You manage and expedite contract deliverables and requirements.
• You support and coordinate the development of contracting strategies, including Sub-contracts & Supply Chain.
• You monitor performance and compliance with contractual requirements and signatory powers, expedite disciplines where necessary, and highlight potential areas of concern.
• You ensure commercial and contractual awareness across the Project Team throughout the life of the project.
• You achieve and maintain total auditability of all commercial and contractual dealings, including clear record keeping and regular commercial reporting.
• You participate in and provide input to Risk and Opportunities management.
• You provide Contract Feedback during the life of the project.
• You ensure Guarantee period management.

Education

• Degree or MBA in one of the following disciplines (Business Management, Law, Construction Law, Engineering or Quantity Surveying).

Experience

• 15+ years of experience covering all aspects contract management including Claims, EPCI, subcontract management.
• Broad experience in sales and lease contracts, in executing contract negotiation.
• Experience of project execution interface.
