Job summary

SBM Offshore N.V. is seeking a seasoned Project Contract Manager in Malaysia to lead contract management across major projects, including EPCI and subcontracting.

You will ensure contract compliance, mitigate risks, and optimise commercial outcomes while coordinating with the Supply Chain and Project teams. The role demands extensive experience (15+ years) in contract management, strong negotiating skills, and a robust understanding of contract law and model contracts.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience covering all aspects of contract management including Claims, EPCI and subcontract management.
• Broad experience in sales and lease contracts, in executing contract negotiation.
• Experience of project execution interface and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage Main Contracts for projects and units across Supply Chain, Client focus and Subcontracting.
• Expedite contract deliverables and requirements and ensure compliance.
• Support and coordinate development of contracting strategies including Sub-contracts & Supply Chain.
• Monitor performance with contractual requirements and expedit e disciplines where necessary.
• Ensure commercial and contractual awareness across the Project Team throughout the life of the project.
• Maintain auditability of all commercial and contractual dealings with clear record keeping and reporting.
• Provide input to Risk and Opportunities management and Contract Feedback during the project.
• Ensure Guarantee period management.

Purpose

• The Project Contract Manager provides Contract Management support for major projects or unit execution across Supply Chain, Client focus and Subcontracting to ensure a contractually compliant and a commercially optimised contract. You ensure the mitigation of risk and maximisation of opportunity.

Responsibilities

• You manage Main Contracts.
• You manage and expedite contract deliverables and requirements.
• You support and coordinate the development of contracting strategies, including Sub-contracts & Supply Chain.
• You monitor performance and compliance with contractual requirements and signatory powers, expedite disciplines where necessary, and highlight potential areas of concern.
• You ensure commercial and contractual awareness across the Project Team throughout the life of the project.
• You achieve and maintain total auditability of all commercial and contractual dealings, including clear record keeping and regular commercial reporting.
• You participate in and provide input to Risk and Opportunities management.
• You provide Contract Feedback during the life of the project.
• You ensure Guarantee period management.

Education

• Degree or MBA in one of the following disciplines (Business Management, Law, Construction Law, Engineering or Quantity Surveying).

Experience

• 15+ years of experience covering all aspects contract management including Claims, EPCI, subcontract management.
• Broad experience in sales and lease contracts, in executing contract negotiation.
• Experience of project execution interface.
