Signal Flare Digital Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Project Accountant to provide financial oversight across our productions, from initial budgeting through final reconciliations. You will work with Project/Production Managers, Producers and the Finance team to maintain visibility of costs, forecasts and performance throughout each project's lifecycle.

We're looking for a Project Accountant to provide dedicated financial oversight across our projects, from initial budgeting through to final project reconciliation.
Working closely with our Project/Production Manager, Producers and Finance team, you'll help maintain clear visibility of project costs, forecasts and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Set up and maintain project budgets and cost reports throughout the project lifecycle.
Track budget, committed costs, actual costs and forecast final costs.
Monitor project expenditure and provide timely visibility of significant budget variances.
Work closely with Project/Production Managers and Producers to maintain accurate and current project financial information.
Track approved budget revisions, additional scope and project variations.
Support project teams with relevant financial information for planning and decision-making.
Reconcile project revenue, client billings and expenditure against approved budgets.
Review vendor invoices, crew and contractor costs, equipment rentals, travel expenses, production expenses, staff claims and cash advances.
Prepare project reconciliations and financial close-outs upon completion.
Account for outstanding commitments, accruals and costs pending invoicing.
Review project financial records for completeness and accuracy.
Prepare Budget vs Actual and Variance Reports.
Prepare final project profitability and margin reports.
Work with Project/Production Managers and Producers to review material budget variances and project financial performance.
Coordinate with Finance on client invoicing, vendor payments, receivables and project cost allocation.
Ensure project costs are accurately allocated to the appropriate project and budget category.
Maintain complete supporting documentation for project financial records.
Provide accurate project financial information for month-end reporting.
Ensure consistency between project cost reports and the company's accounting records.
Support established financial controls and project accounting procedures across productions.
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
Around 2–5 years of experience in project accounting, management accounting, cost accounting, production accounting or a similar role.
Solid understanding of budgeting, cost tracking, reconciliation and variance analysis.
Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills.
Good numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage financial information across multiple projects and deadlines.
Confidence working independently while collaborating closely with Project and Finance teams.
Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
Experience in any project-based industry such as media production, film & televsion, advertising, creative agencies, events or digital content.
Familiarity with production budgets, crew and contractor costs, equipment rentals and travel costs.
Experience working with international clients, overseas vendors or multiple currencies.
Experience preparing project profitability and margin reports.
Media production experience is preferred but not essential. Strong project accounting fundamentals and genuine interest to learn how media productions work matter more to us.

You're naturally curious about what's behind the figures and understand that good project accounting isn't simply about recording costs, but about giving project teams and management an accurate view of financial performance throughout a project.
You're comfortable working alongside Project/Production Manager and can communicate financial information clearly without unnecessary accounting jargon.
You're organised, meticulous and commercially aware, while still able to see the bigger picture. You understand the importance of both financial accuracy and the realities of delivering complex projects.
Most importantly, you enjoy understanding how a project comes together and providing the financial insight that supports good decisions along the way.
