Job summary

Fortinet Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Professional Services Consultant to lead network security engagements, design Fortinet solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction across Malaysia. The role includes workshops, deployment, and ongoing advisory to optimize environments.

You will collaborate with customers and Fortinet partners, maintain deep expertise in Fortinet technologies, and contribute to best-practice assets and templates.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years+ relevant network security experience, preferably with a network security vendor
• 5+ years’ experience in LAN/WAN/Internet support or administration
• 3+ years’ experience with network security products
• Customer-centric mindset and excellent communication skills
• Fortinet NSE 4 or higher certification preferred; external network security certifications (Cisco, F5, Juniper, Checkpoint, AWS) a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead Professional Services engagements for Fortinet customers with timely delivery and high satisfaction
• Understand customer requirements (scope, technical requirements, solution design)
• Conduct design workshops remotely and onsite
• Lead deployment, migration and optimization of Fortinet solutions
• Provide technical consultation and act as trusted advisor during project delivery
• Develop and share implementation best practices and reusable assets
• Maintain expert-level knowledge of Fortinet products and related technologies

As aProfessional Services Consultant, you will:

• Carry out Professional Services engagements in a professional & timely manner for Fortinet customers & deliver projects with customer satisfaction in mind.
• Develops a clear overall understanding of the customer requirements (project scope, technical requirements and solution design)
• Conduct design workshops with customers and stakeholders both remotely as well as onsite.
• Lead the deployment, migration and optimization of Fortinet solutions in Customer environments.
• Execute project tasks in accordance with project timelines and quality standards.
• Act as a trusted advisor during project delivery and provide technical consultation to customers.
• Continuously developing knowledge and skills to remain proficient with Fortinet technologies to provide best practice advice during project delivery
• Maintain expert-level technical knowledge in the following technology disciplines as they relate to Fortinet’s products:

  • Network Security Infrastructure – Switching, Routing, SD-WAN, Proxies

    • Firewalls, UTM, APT (Sandboxing), Application Control & Content Filtering,
      Web Proxying, SLB, Cryptology

    • VPN technologies (SSL VPN/IPSEC VPN) & associated topologies

    • Web Application Firewalling

• Interface with Fortinet’s Business and Technology partners within designated technology discipline and distribute that knowledge internally within Fortinet.
• Develop and update implementation best practices, templates and reusable technical assets.
• Effectively communicates relevant project information to Fortinet management as appropriate
• Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
• Completes and submits any required administrative tasks in a timely manner
  (timesheets, activities report, project reports, etc…).
• Followings up with customer and internal Fortinet departments to ensure project documentation is completed:

  • Creation of Statement of Work document

    • Acknowledgement of work performed including work complete signing

    • Knowledge Transfer

    • Customer satisfaction surveys

We Are Looking For:

• 8 - 10 years + relevant network security experience, It would be advantageous if the experience was with a network security vendor.
• 5+ Years’ experience in LAN/WAN /Internet Support or Administration
• 3+ Years’ experience with Network Security Products

• Teamwork and cross functional collaboration with regional team members.
• Problem solving and critical thinking.
• Ability to work well under pressure and remain focused on the tasks in hand.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network & security environment
• Strong knowledge of the security threat landscape
• Previous Technical support position (other PS or TAC position), or Sales Engineering
• background advantageous
• Network security certifications (Fortinet NSE 4 minimum and above)
• External network security & vendor certifications such as Cisco, F5, Juniper, Checkpoint, AWS area are a plus
• Strong understanding of core Internet protocols and applications (TCP/IP & networking skills)
• Strong general knowledge of common networking (switching & routing) and security protocols
• Scripting experience (Python) & experience of API (Restful API)
• Ability to work according to customer’s schedules which may include weekends/evenings/holidays
• MS office suite using applications such as Power Point, Word, Visio & Project.
• Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in EE, CS, or CE or equivalent experience.
