Jora Malaysia is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Specialist for high-volume automated production lines in Johor Bahru. You will troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, robotic arms, and vision systems to minimize cycle-time bottlenecks and keep lines running.
You will implement preventive maintenance, log downtime and yield metrics, and ensure safety with LOTO protocols. The role requires flexibility to work day/night shifts in a 24/7 operation and strong diagnostic skills across mechanical,
Jora Malaysia will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.
High-Volume Machine Uptime: Perform rapid troubleshooting and emergency repairs on high-runner automated production lines to minimize cycle-time bottlenecks.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Execute strict preventive maintenance (PM) schedules to avoid breakdowns on high-speed automation equipment.
System Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hardware, and PLC control system errors on the fly.
Automation & Vision Optimization: Calibrate and adjust sensors, robotic arms (Pick-and-Place), conveyors, and automated vision systems.
Yield Recovery: Address repetitive machine jams, software version errors, and physical component placement defects to keep high runner outputs steady.
Data Log & Documentation: Meticulously log downtime data, machine failure modes, parts consumption, and yield metrics to support continuous improvement.
Safety & 5’s: Strictly adhere to Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) protocols during high-speed machine interventions, maintain zero-hazard automation enclosures, and keep workstations meticulously organized to sustain high-volume production flow.
Required Technical Skills & Competencies:
Automation Systems: Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), robotic arms, and smart conveyors.
Hardware Diagnostics: Proficient in reading electrical schematics, pneumatic circuits, and mechanical engineering drawings.
Vision & Smart Sensors: Ability to calibrate camera alignments, proximity sensors, and barcode/QR scanners used in high-volume tracing.
Lean Manufacturing Mindset: Clear understanding of demand flow, cycle times, and minimizing waste (Lean/5S) in mass-production setups.
Tool Proficiency: Skilled with precision hand tools, digital mustimeters, and diagnostic measurement equipment.
Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work rotating shift schedules (day/night) to support 24/7 high-volume factory operations
Documentation & Reporting
Handover Logs: Document all technical incidents, major breakdowns, parameters adjusted, and pending issues in the digital logbook to ensure smooth shift transitions.
Spare Parts Tracking: Record the usage of critical automation spares (e.g., replacement cylinders, sensors, motors) in the inventory management system to trigger replenishment.
Failure Mode Logging: Categorize and document repetitive faults (e.g., recurring feeder jams, vision errors) to assist engineering teams in Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
