Job summary

ASE Electronics Malaysia is seeking a Die Attach Technician for our Penang manufacturing line. You will work in a cleanroom environment, operating die attach equipment and monitoring production to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Electronics, Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with practical die attach experience and familiarity with SPC, FMEA, DOE, TPM, OCAP, JMP, RCA, Control Plan, Work Instructions, and Predictive Maintenance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics / Electrical / Chemical / Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with die attach equipment and processes.
• Familiar with SPC, FMEA, DOE, TPM, OCAP, JMP, RCA, Control Plan, Work Instructions, and Predictive Maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation and Monitoring: Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment (Cu Clip Inline Machine and all Offline Machine). Verify settings and calibration; adjust parameters as needed.
• Process Control and Documentation: Follow defined process flows; record yield, cycle time, and defect rates; complete logs for traceability.
• Inspection and Quality Assurance: Perform inline inspections with microscopes or automated tools; identify defects and report to quality/engineering.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identify and resolve minor machine issues; coordinate with engineers for complex problems; perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Cleanroom Compliance and Safety: Adhere to cleanroom protocols and EHS guidelines; participate in safety drills and training.
• Collaboration and Communication: Communicate issues and improvements with team; mentor new operators as required.

  • Verify machine settings and ensure calibration is correct before starting operations.
  • Adjust machine parameters as needed to maintain optimal performance.

• Process Control and Documentation:

  • Adhere to defined process flows, ensuring all steps are executed per manufacturing guidelines.
  • Record and track production metrics such as yield, cycle time, and defect rates.
  • Complete logs and reports accurately for traceability and quality assurance purposes.

• Inspection and Quality Assurance:

  • Perform in‑line inspections using microscopes, visual aids, or automated inspection tools to ensure product quality.
  • Identify and segregate defective materials and report non‑conformities to quality or engineering teams.
  • Verify that finished goods meet customer specifications before moving to the next process stage.

• Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

  • Identify and resolve minor machine issues, including jams, misalignments, and calibration errors.
  • Collaborate with technicians and engineers to resolve more complex equipment or process problems.
  • Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on equipment as per the maintenance schedule.

• Cleanroom Compliance and Safety:

  • Maintain strict adherence to cleanroom protocols, including gowning procedures and contamination control.
  • Follow EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in regular safety drills and equipment training.

• Collaboration and Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and engineers about operational issues and improvements.
  • Provide feedback on process inefficiencies and suggest opportunities for improvement.
  • Support team training initiatives by mentoring new operators as required
