Job summary

Brooks Automation Malaysia SDN. BHD. in Johor Bahru is seeking an experienced Production Planner to optimize production schedules and ensure on-time delivery in a fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing environment.

You will oversee planning, scheduling, and material movement, manage inventory levels and capacity, and collaborate with global teams to align demand with supply. This role offers onsite work at Pasir Gudang, with opportunities to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a manufacturing plant, ideally within semiconductor industry.
• Strong understanding of production planning and scheduling processes.
• Proficiency in production planning software and tools.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and lean manufacturing principles, with Oracle ERP as a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review MRP and related systems to manage changes in demand and master production scheduling.
• Attend and manage SIOP and R&O meetings for product lines; create and release production orders.
• Research root causes of late deliveries and drive corrective actions to improve delivery performance.
• Support quality management by ensuring compliance with policies and work instructions.
• Review inventory levels regularly to minimize stock while ensuring adequate component and finished goods.
• Schedule production orders based on reorder points and customer orders, optimizing manufacturing sequences.
• Engage in other duties as assigned.

About the Role:

Brooks Automation is a fast-paced technology company that works on the forefront of Semiconductor Robotics and Automation solutions as we continue to push the capabilities of robotics inside of semiconductor fabs. We are now looking for an experienced Production Planner to join our team in Johor Bahru at our brand-new manufacturing facility. The Production Planner will have a solid background in Manufacturing within the Semiconductor industry, strong organizational skills, and the ability to optimize production schedules to meet business objectives. You will oversee and assist with planning, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials. This will include responsibility for inventory levels, capacity planning, and on-time shipment. Number of Vacancies: 3 (Mixture of Senior Production Planner & Production Planner) Work Location: Onsite - Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review Oracle MRP and similar applications multiple times weekly, per area to assure timely responsiveness to changes in demand (Customer bookings, safety stock builds, and Master Production Scheduled material fulfillment needs) that trigger updated production planning.
• Attend and manage SIOP and R&O meetings for an individual product line(s) Creates and releases Production Orders in support of the above, with keen awareness of the completion dates needed, component and capacity availability, and any other resource issues needed to support on-time delivery to internal and external customers.
• Research and analyze root causes of late deliveries in support of corrective actions needed to drive delivery improvement. Also able to perform similar actions proactively for future demand
• Support the ongoing Quality Management by ensuring all applicable policies, procedures, and work instructions comply.
• Conduct regular review of inventory levels in areas of responsibility to minimize inventory while assuring adequate component and finished goods stock to support corporate delivery and financial goals; take actions needed to avoid slow and excess inventory.
• Based on re-order points or customers’ orders, schedule production orders while optimizing manufacturing sequence.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing, or a related field with a minimum of 6 years' experience in a manufacturing plant, ideally within the semiconductor industry.
• Strong understanding of production planning and scheduling processes.
• Proficiency in production planning software and tools.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret production data and performance metrics.
• Familiarity with ERP systems & knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Oracle ERP experience is a plus.
• Ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production and non-production areas to be more efficient and reduce waste.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
