About the job Production Manager, based in JB

Our client is one of the largest marker manufacturers in South East Asia. Their products are sold in over 60 countries worldwide.

Job Summary:

To lead and manage the entire Production Departments for continuous improvement activities on personnel, material and capital efficiency in production floor. Besides, coordinate production schedule and ensure quality of products meet to quality standard.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary duties: (Approximately 70 to 80% of daily work schedule)

  • Production output and efficiency monitoring.
  • Develop performance KPIs for production activities.
  • Follow up production order and ensure production run smoothly and complete orders on schedule.
  • Monitor overall production output and verify daily production forms.
  • Investigate non-conformances root cause and take corrective/preventive action.
  • Identify areas for improvement and initiate improvement activities.
  • Ensure safety and healthy working environment for production.
  • Inculcate 5s good housekeeping habits and maintain discipline on the production line.
  • Report to Operations Director.

Secondary duties: (Approximately 20 to 30% of daily work schedule)

  • Liaise with supporting departments like Planning, HR, IT, Marketing, QA and R&D to ensure production needs are fulfilled.
  • Participate in ISO activities, customers audit and inspection.
  • Liaise with certain suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Order spare parts of machine.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • The person is expected to work closely with staffs from all departments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Knowledge of technical troubleshooting.

Able to coordinate daily production operation.

Knowledge of computer softwares like ERP and Excel, Word, Powerpoint

Strong skills in leadership, decision-making and people management.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably ManufacturingEngineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Preferably Manager specialized in Manufacturing/Production Operation or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of lean Manufacturing, ISO 90001 and ISO 14001.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, able tohandle a heavy workload andprioritize to meet assigned deadlines.
