Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and optimise manufacturing operations in Malaysia. The role focuses on planning, execution, and continuous improvement to meet output, delivery, and quality targets.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing/production management, with 3+ years in leadership. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for driving productivity and quality.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in manufacturing/engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years manufacturing/production management.
At least 3 years in leadership role.
Experience leading production teams and achieving targets.
Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments is a plus.
Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute daily and weekly production plans to meet targets.
Ensure manpower, machines, and materials are efficiently utilised.
Monitor production progress and resolve bottlenecks to minimise downtime.
Maintain production schedules and meet customer delivery commitments.
Ensure products meet internal quality standards and customer specifications.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
Drive Lean initiatives (5S, Kaizen) and improve OEE and productivity.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Warehouse, Procurement, Maintenance, QA, and Sales.

Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related discipline.
Candidates with equivalent practical manufacturing leadership experience are encouraged to apply.
Sound understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, quality management, and business fundamentals.
Minimum 5 years of manufacturing or production management experience.
At least 3 years in a leadership role (Senior Supervisor, Assistant Manager, or Manager level).
Proven track record in leading production teams, improving productivity, maintaining product quality, and achieving production targets.
Experience in textile, bedding, furniture, plastics, foam, FMCG, or other high volume manufacturing environments is an advantage.
Strong leadership and people development skills.
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making abilities.
Hands on leadership style with the ability to work effectively on the production floor.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
High level of accountability, integrity, and execution discipline.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

1. Production Planning & Execution (Primary Responsibility)

Execute daily and weekly production plans to achieve output, delivery, and productivity targets.
Ensure manpower, machines, and materials are efficiently utilised.
Monitor production progress and resolve bottlenecks to minimise downtime.
Maintain production schedules while meeting customer delivery commitments.

2. Product Quality & Manufacturing Excellence

Ensure products consistently meet internal quality standards and customer specifications.
Strengthen in process quality control and defect prevention.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
Drive continuous reduction in defects, rework, waste, and customer complaints.
Lead, coach, and develop Production Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Operators.
Build a culture of accountability, discipline, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and manpower planning.

4. Productivity & Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve productivity, workflow efficiency, and capacity.
Lead Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and process improvement initiatives.
Improve OEE, reduce cycle time, and optimise labour productivity.
Establish practical production KPIs and visual management systems.

5. SOP, Process Control & Compliance

Develop and improve production SOPs.
Ensure compliance with manufacturing procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Maintain production documentation and support ISO, OEKO TEX, and customer audits.

6. Cross Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Operations, Warehouse, Procurement, Maintenance, QA, Customer Service, Marketing and Sales.
Support new product introduction and operational transformation initiatives.
