Job summary

CLAY INDUSTRIES SDN. BERHAD is seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Head to lead our ceramic manufacturing operations on the shop floor.

You will own production performance, people leadership, machine coordination and continuous improvement. This role requires a mature leader who can solve operational issues, manage long-serving supervisors and guide a seasoned production team toward ISO, QA and SOP compliance.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 3 years manufacturing management experience.
• Experience in ceramic manufacturing preferred.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Hands-on, disciplined, accountable and result-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily ceramic manufacturing operations to meet production, quality, cost and delivery targets.
• Plan manpower, machinery, materials and production resources for smooth operations.
• Develop and guide supervisors, line leaders and experienced production teams.
• Monitor production KPIs including output, productivity, efficiency, wastage and downtime.
• Coordinate with Maintenance and Technical teams to troubleshoot machine issues.
• Ensure production processes comply with ISO, QA, SOPs and quality standards.
• Investigate production and quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement in productivity, process control and quality.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Production Head to lead our ceramic manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will take ownership of production performance, people leadership, machine coordination, quality management and continuous improvement. This position requires a mature leader who is comfortable working on the production floor, solving operational issues and leading an experienced workforce, including long-serving supervisors and team leaders.

Key responsibilities

Lead and manage daily ceramic manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, cost and delivery targets

Plan and optimise manpower, machinery, materials and production resources to ensure smooth operations

Lead, guide and develop supervisors, line leaders and experienced production teams

Monitor production KPIs including output, productivity, efficiency, wastage, rejection, downtime and quality performance

Work closely with Maintenance and Technical teams to troubleshoot machine issues and minimise production downtime

Apply practical technical knowledge to identify production and equipment-related issues and coordinate corrective actions

Ensure production processes and products comply with ISO, QA requirements, SOPs and established quality standards

Investigate production and quality issues, conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective &preventive actions

Drive continuous improvement in productivity, process control, product quality, cost and operational efficiency

Strengthen shopfloor discipline, accountability, teamwork and communication across production teams

About you

Diploma / Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, Ceramic Technology, Industrial Management or related field

Minimum 3 years of manufacturing management experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity

Experience in ceramic manufacturing is highly preferred

Good practical knowledge of manufacturing machinery and ability to understand, assess and coordinate solutions for machine-related issues

Good knowledge of ISO, Quality Assurance (QA), SOPs and manufacturing quality systems

Strong production planning, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and problem-solving abilities

Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the maturity to lead experienced and long-serving employees

Able to communicate effectively, manage different levels of employees and implement improvements constructively

Hands-on, disciplined, accountable and result-oriented

Strong coordination and decision-making skills

Basic Salary: RM5,500 – RM8,000 per month, based on experience and capability
