Job summary

Coherent Corp. Ipoh site is seeking a Diploma-qualified Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance on Front of Line production equipment and related systems.

You will inspect, clean, calibrate, and test machines to ensure reliability and optimal uptime while recording maintenance results and equipment history. You will analyze downtime trends, support improvements to maintenance frequency, methods and checklists, and work closely with Production, Process Engineering, Quality, and

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical/Electronics or Mechanical Engineering required or related discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience in equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, testing, or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience in troubleshooting, configuring, and maintaining production equipment or test systems.
• Knowledge of fiber-optic cable handling, splicing, termination, monitorization, OTDR operation, and test-data interpretation is an advantage.
• Familiarity with interferometer and polishing machines, including SFP-550C equipment, is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on Front of Line production equipment according to approved plans, checklists, and safety requirements.
• Inspect, clean, lubricate, adjust, calibrate, and functionally test machines to ensure reliability and optimum performance.
• Support preventive maintenance activities for production equipment, testing equipment, automation systems, fixtures, and other Front of Line equipment.
• Monitor machine conditions and identify abnormality, wear, deterioration, or early signs of equipment failure.
• Perform equipment troubleshooting, fault finding, and corrective actions to minimize machine downtime.
